    @martin-walker 100%

I wouldn't ever want to get into a 'Fund manager type set up'

I would be happy to have an automated bot that was BTC's but the members were in charge of what they traded!

Somewhere for the days selections and results tracking would be a start. Theres numerous strategies knocking around here that could be used, obviously dependant on the creator being ok with it

Thats my thinking potentially, if there was a way to have these displayed and other strategies added when they've been tested etc.... it's similar to what @Martin does with the daily email

@keith-anderson He hates it! But I was thinking in terms of an auto tracker style sheet that worked out the results for us.

I was trying to say we are getting away from the original idea

In that case, my bad, Martin, sorry.

@stuart-capstick Get what your saying I was thinking it would be more an added income stream, similar to following the daily trades in the forum.

@stuart-capstick @Martin-Walker you boys have nailed it, i was trying to say we use these strategies as a package. I think people have gotten carried away here with the original idea. My idea is to only use these strategies not turn them into profit sharing things with financial bodies. Bit OTT. I hope people go back a re read my original idea as its very basic and very sensible. Core group of strats that people can pick up and use while they build their own strategies that one day will hopefully be better for their trading style. Hope iv cleared this up before it keeps going in a totally different direction to what i meant.

Your original idea was perfectly clear and a great one for new and experienced traders alike.

Maybe people think I'm being pissy about this but do you ever hear of cases of successful financial market traders who follow index funds only?

I think the term index fund has been taken literally instead of just a catchy name that was given to something that already happens here

Read some of the earlier posts, Martin. The idea of pooling in a sum of money each month was being mooted. That is a world away from guys posting strategies for people to follow.

The whole point of BTC as a learning community notwithstanding, the legal implications of this fund idea don't bear thinking about.

I'm all for Darri's original idea of a set of strategies people can use to build up their bank.

But, this idea of an index fund is nothing more than a tipster subscription dressed up in financial trading attire.

The purpose of BTC is to be a learning community. This is taking away the learning entirely.

Agree with this, I am using Darris idea to place the trades of those members myself, this way it makes me learn how things work makes me look at things and hopefully learn something from the successful members.

Ultimately I want to learn to fish for myself.

Which is what I thought the essence of this place was.

I'm happy to share strategies with people and answer questions/look over data, but I'm fucked if I'm going to be somebody's broker.
