@matt-wood Also look at what Martin does with him Thumbnails, always pretty girls
I noticed this had started happening. I wondered if there was a reason
Looks like the start of a Ben Michaels video
In actual fact I believe he was asked/told by YouTube to stop using that type of thumbnail

@dan-mackinnon ahahaha he would do anything for money
-
@mark-maguire she should report him 100% I would do, in fact I tried once
-
@mark-maguire @Martin Both absolutely valid points and would respect them as trades however never seen you suggest that was your play. If you look at my post i was trying to help a new trader. Instead of me going "unlucky mate try again" i was actually being honest in that he might be starting off his journey with a very hard way of trading. Pricing up games pre match is always difficult and even good traders fail sometimes. That was all i was saying, i referenced 3 examples, hardly enough data for me to say never do this, more just to emphasise a point i was making to help him.

@dan-mackinnon @ryan looks to me like she's deciding whether to report the dodgy geezer behind her or take the money
-
@matt-ayles It;s the lengths he has to go to try and get more views than me, I for one feel sorry for him

In my mind value comes from amount of profit gained... If you make more red than green then clearly you're not finding value
If on the other hand you feel you're spotting value and make decent green then indeed you are finding/spotting value.
It's all in your results, if you keep assessing your value with constant parameters your results will reveal value or the bookies being correct.
Hopefully this helps

Antwerp look value over fenerbahce tonight, fener have made wholesale changes tonight and not in good form anyway. Backed on the draw no bet just to be safe
This might sound after timed, but just seen this now and as you are a newer trader just my own advice/opinion. I genuinely believe opinion trading is very difficult to crack. We have seen 3-4 of these posts from people like martins inter, marks lens, they just are very hard to crack. Id just stick to data or inplay trading
@Darri to avoid speculative comments like this in the future I will clarify what I do.
I don't base my trades on opinion I'll give a little more detail below as to what I do for you.
I looked at the match up in depth.
I also stand by thoughts that Sheriff were underrated given how they had played before the game and until the first goal went in (which by the way took a long time) it was a very even game. Inter have not been pulling up any trees this season in CL or Serie A and didn't beat Sheriff that easily at home (again scores were level early in the second half).
Hence I would lay at around 1.33 in that spot quite happily knowing I only need to be right 25% of the time to break even. That's really important to think about, remember you can lose 66% of selections at these prices and make a very good profit.
Even if you only take the final score into consideration at a price around 1.33 a team would be expected to win by 2 goals. So it's hardly as if Inter defied the odds and won by 4-5 goals showing it was clearly a poor value, esp when you consider it was 0-0 at HT (where you could have taken a profit if you wanted).
I will put this in a way that I think people find easier to understand, would you back Inter at 1.3x to beat Sheriff away from home and feel like you got good value? I would be surprised if many serious traders would.
-
@darri With big respect I don't know if I completely agree with you on this one, I don't think anyones suggested it as a trading strategy but if someone sees what they think is value then theres no harm no foul. Loads of trades suggested on here work, some don't - I made Money on Martins Inter because it stayed 0-0 for a good while and I layed Inter trading out for a profit before the first goal. My Lens - in the match they battered Lyon first half and couldn't score but thems the breaks as they say. I agree no one should try to crack it, but if we see what we think is value (personally I only back those out of profit on the day) then its surely part of what this forum is for? Again all said with big respect for what you do
-
@darri Fair play! The trade is obviously not looking good, but the team news is what got me involved really. Didnβt put big stakes on but get your point.
