@dan-mackinnon I imagine it will be factored in, esp for Liverpool not huge swings in price but defo factored in, think Barca without Messi when he was there.
-
This might be a daft question, but how much of an influence does AFCON have on trading teams without key players I remember Ryan saying he doesn't trade the week after international breaks due to players travelling and wondered if traders factor in depleted squads at this time of season.

Udinese in quarantine. Bloody covid!

Isn’t the problem with AFCON that the tournament is held every two years now, instead of every four years?
Exacerbated maybe but managers have been moaning about it since I can remember back in the late 90's/early 00's
-
My picks are Over 1.5
Sampdoria 1.29
Fiorentina 1.26
Juventus 1.35
Waiting to see the odds for a few more tomorrow -

@chris-osborne the thing is this isn't a new thing is it, so clubs knew, it's always been in winter from what I can remember. I know they have tried to change it but I doubt there is enough money there to play in state of the art air conditioned stadiums.
Yeah, I mean if you don't like it don't buy African players haha!!
See Liverpool are managing to reschedule all their games because of the AFCON, a couple of injuries and oh oh yeah some Covid haha
-
@Martin god the stuff I could say about them .. I'd be here all night. "Manager and coach discussing opposition goalkeeper post match.. Manager "What do you think of their keeper" Coach "I think he's erratic"... Manager "No I think he's Nigerian" ... true story :face_with_tears_of_joy: :face_with_tears_of_joy:

Unfortunately, i am in Spain at the moment, and neither BT Sport nor BET365 work here, even via a VPN, so i will try to find another site - anybody got any ideas?
Have you tried using the Tor browser? You can configure it so that it gives you an IP address of a particular country so even though you are in Spain you would appear to be using a UK IP address which should let you access BT Sport & B365.
It won't be as fast as normal but it should work and it's free.

@mark-maguire managers moaning, I do not believe you
-
@Martin I agree with you here. It annoys me that managers moan about it because if you sign a top African player you do so knowing you'll lose him.
its the same across football managers often dont think about it in their eagerness to do a deal.. Ive dealt with them before where they've said they've broken the budget to sign "top young goalkeeper " on loan .. lucky to have him, beaten often competition blah blah blah.. what they didnt look at was that he was an Irish Under 21 keeper and called up three times and missed 6 games of the 12 he would have been available on loan.. so then they get grumpy about U21 Internationals... ahem do I sound bitter ?

Here’s a preview for the Africa Cup of Nations competition that starts on Sunday.
All matches are being shown on Skysports. I’ll definitely be watching it and hopefully a few trades from it too
I quite like the African Nations as it's often countries I don't ever see play and some good potential players who are unknown to a lot of us as well as the obvious stars. Plus it's on at a more reasonable time than most continent tournaments.
Only downside is the awful scheduling during the season, I guess it's just too hot in summer in Cameroon.
Not as hot as it will be in Qatar for the WC - AFCON should align with Euro's, South America and hold there tournaments in May/June says the biased Leicester fan who has lost both centre halfs from last week's match v Liverpool and also only fit striker.

I was in Spain end of November last year and managed to run my bot on my VPS... I use Simply Hosting, it's around £10 + Vat per mth... Think they're just about or have just put up prices.
I use the S-SSD 2 option
Their servers are set to Reading UK
