@james-woodroffe And can I add "the traded while angry" club .. thats when Ive made some of my worst decisions
I might just add, trading while in any sense of heightened emotion other than super happy haha!
So that's tired, angry, consumed, sad, distraught, away with the fairies haha!
-
@mark-maguire yep I think I have a card for that club also but I won’t be renewing it.

@stuart-wallace Definitely don’t trade when you’re tired mate. I made that blunder on the cricket and won’t be doing that again. Wise man who started this site once told me “there’s never a shortage of trading opportunities”. Sometimes it’s just gotta be the last thing you should be thinking about.
Welcome to the fell asleep tired club. -

I made a real big c**k up last night.
I had been travelling all day which also necessitated a sleep over in Alicante airport.
So, get to my accom in Spain circa 15.00 , and decide to lay 1.5 on Leicester v Liv game, only to find that i had, i dont know how, placed a 1000 back on OVER 1.5 goals...still dont know how it does that , how can it back with an amount which is way more than my Bank.?? So, in nocticing that, i frantically tried to exit (which i did successfully). So, once exited i layed Under 1.5 goals (yes, i know, another lesson learned), with the intention of trading it, only to fall asleep after a long day and wake up after the game.
2 lessons learnt.....1) Always look for value 2) Dont trade when you are tired. -
@matt-wood Daka has been bought for the long term to replace but he has been scoring and we will need him after this week as Inheacho goes to AFCON. However he picked up a hamstring last week which could be a concern as Vardy isn't going to start two matches in a row but might have to. Rodgers should have been playing him all season certainly bringing him on but was rarely using him until he scored 4 in the Europa League
Barnes has been dreadful all season and Daka should have been playing on the left and cutting in but Rodgers chose not to for whatever reason
Long term Daka will be Vardy's replacement

@matt-wood its a really good question .. He irritates me at times when he over intellectualises everything post match. And question whether his approach runs out of steam. But this week at least he's shown some real quality, before your post I was going ask the controversial question whether Jurgen is to blame for yesterday - the caveat being I love what he's done inn recreating Liverpool and his man management is extraordinary but surely all his public moaning about Christmas fixtures and the schedule has to get in players heads, players are, by definition open to any sub conscious excuse to be below par and the difference this week between Jurgen and Brendan has been stark - Brendan saying after Man City, "We're not going to moan about it, we're going to get on and man up" etc Jurgen has been amazing but on this one? Its also perhaps relevant trading wise - Managers statements between games and the language they use can be a big sign post to where the team is at preparation and mentality wise. ?
Thats a really interesting take on it that had not occurred to me before. I am 100% sure you are right about the psychology aspect. Manager A is always posistive in interviews and comments etc, whilst manager B moans about this and that more and more. I'm sure that will bleed over into the players mondsets, some more than others but there will be those players that really 'adopt' their managers mental state and undoubtedly that would affect their on pitch performances.

@Chris-Osborne Some great points there, I knew there were some fans unhappy with Rodgers but didnt think it was quite that split.
I always felt, although only looking at it from the 'outside', that he would elevate a club 'to a certain level' but then never seem to be able to push on past that.
He is a gentleman though, never seen him moaning in interview.
Youngsters is a great point too, although I dont get the Daka issue. I really thought that Daka would be pushed as your eventual replacement for Vardy. I think given the opportunity he could be a top level player too. -

Goodness only knows what team we put out against Liverpool tomorrow. How did that work out for you?
Still in shock to be fair I never saw that coming
As a fan do you think Rodgers is the right man? A "Top Tier" manager? I find I am always undecided about him. Deff a very good manager and many teams would benefit from having him at the club, but good enough to consistently challenge the top clubs in this country? (spending power aside)
Like him or not as a manager, he is a gentleman and his comments about Emma Hayes last night were spot on and he should be congratulated for saying what he did in the way that he said it.

No I don't he is not as popular as you'd think in Leicester he changes formations far to often and rarely plays the same team week on week.
His refusal to play Daka instead of a clearly not fit and out of form Barnes for most of the season has annoyed a lot of people.
The defensive record this season is a joke last night was only our second clean sheet in the league all season the other was the first game of the season.
Our set piece defending corners in particular have been a massive problem for three years yet nothing gets done about it.
Losing Fofana to a horror of a challenge the week before the season started was significant and I think we panicked a bit. Hopefully he'll be back as well as Justin soon but we'll have to see. They will need time to get back to last seasons form.
Its never his fault if we lose always something else, the players must hate that although they seem to be happy playing for him.
Some of the transfer decisions he has been involved in have been questionable at best Westerveld was 100% his signing and he is one of the worse players we have ever had on the books in my 40years+ of being a supporter.
The one thing he does do to his credit is he isn't afraid to play youngsters - Barnes, Justin, Fofana, Thomas and Dewsbury-Hall to name 5 of a number. Barnes, Thomas and KDH all being at the club since they we're 9 or 10.
Something else to his credit which Alistair pointed out is he will never moan in the media unlike others I can mention who have the squad to cope with injuries/covid etc which we don't and we lose 5 more next week to the pointless African cup of nations including N'didi, Amartay and Inheacho he will just get on with it. His comments about Emma Hayes last night we're pure class. How she never won coach of the year and it was given to Southgate who did everything possible for us to lose the Euro's is beyond me.

I'm starting my research into the antepost market for the African Cup of Nations. Anyone got any thoughts?
Odds on it will be cancelled
I hope so. It’s an awful competition anyway
Can be a gold mine for unders backers.
