I'm going to speak to Adam tomorrow in our weekly meeting and see if there are any strategies we can start testing before the software is ready, to start amping up interest on here!
That would be good. Laying false favourites like those two I picked last night would be a good start. I’d love to know how they price up horses. Jokers
how do you select them at the moment? see if we can add it in

@finn-kristensen hi,
How do you select horse to lay? Thanks -

Good calls John massive drift on the 2and horse meant opportunity there to take profit b4 start ..never threatened in race itself.
I laid at 3.75 when I posted. I wouldn’t have taken it on at its bsp. Nice when the market backs your choice tho.

Tonight on the AW at Newcastle I am laying
- Meritorious 17:00
- Ask the Wind 18:30
See how they go.
Good start - Meritorious nowhere near. BSP 2.91.
I love it when they get excited about a horse who’s a stranger to the going/surface.
2/2. I’ll see if I can dig out a few more tomorrow

@john-folan Hi John, I'm new to trading and don't know much about horse racing but was wondering what you do with your selections - do you back them to win / place or look to trade them before the race?
Hi mate there’s an explanation in my resources thread. We are basically looking for a treble or bust (trob) in running. So backing at A price of between 3.5-9 just before the off then a lay in place at the two thirds drop point. So 9.0 down to 3.0 for example or 6.0 down to 2. You either win two points on top of your stake or lose your stake if it fails to drop. It’s pretty steady and has been over the last year.

@john-folan yes its surprising the lack of discussion about racing ....perhaps people should be encouraged to put up their trades / stragesies/guidelines /rules.I n racing their are so many variables.
That’s why I love them tbh. Laying favourites is another great strategy. Might start posting those. Odds on so cheap.

Today's. I doubt it will match. Going has wiped out any other potentials

Two points loss. On to todays
3 points back. Steady as she goes. We need some more action in this thread. I’m bored talking to myself. Where is @Charles-Cartwright when you need him?
Waiting on the software myself, if we get that out I predict then it will pick up big time!
If the interface is like the football software and the content is good. You will corner the market.

Yeah - there will probably be more activity in here when the horse racing software is launched.
Bit annoying really. Not many horse traders around anymore and I make the bulk of my money from horses. Never been able to do much with football. I’m too opinionated there so it doesn’t work. Some people have that problem with politics and trade what they want to happen. Rather than what in all likelihood will. I do it with football. So I generally avoid it. Horses I find easier. Mostly because I have no interest in them from a personal point of view. I can quite happily follow the maths.
Yeah, well, I have never really been able to make money on horses. Lord knows I've tried... I bought the Betfair Scalper course once but haven't ever got it to work, although truth be told I probably haven't had the patience to practice it enough. I just find it incredibly boring to scalp for 1-3 points per race and then sometimes you lose 5 points and more and have to spend a lot of time just clawing that back... not for me. Since there is no horse racing software yet I would expect that most people come here for the football, secondarily for the tennis. Once the horse racing software is here, people will be aware of the fact the BTC now has that as well which should attract traders with interest in that.
That should work. In other news inform are looking to improve their Inrunning software. That should be interesting. Proform have never got that quite right. So if someone does they would have a big advantage
