Ones to watch for the pace testing today:
12th November
Noble Albert Kempton AW 6f 4:30 PM
Howzak Kempton AW 6f 8:00 PM
Pulse of Poppy Dundalk AW 1m 4:45 PMWow Howzak all the way into 1.03 before losing! Good result for back to lay. Pulse was a dud and Noble a semi-dud.
Be interesting that we will be able to test entry points on these. Five minutes before the start. Ten minutes and so on. A lot of my trobs steam then. Also be handy to out races with odds on favourites involved. Don’t get that much movement on those unless the horse basically wins. All stuff we can test when Adam fixes the lag problem.

I go to Chelmsford sometimes with my laptop hot spotted to my phone. The advantage of being on a course is spectacular.
I keep meaning to do this - I'm west mids so Warwick, Stratford, Wolverhampton would be nearest.
May do it over one of the xmas meetings. -

Mental - you could see something had happened on exchange seconds before with the money that was piling onto My Drogo and then the money going onto Gin.
Oh for a drone and live footage!

Odds On Lays 12/11
14:20 Cheltenham My Drogo. Up against a very good Chase runner in Gin On Lime. Nothing to choose between them. Should be priced at evens
Please tell me people watched that race? Huge drama/entertainment which lead to our result.
Yep!!! This is why I love horse racing

@matt-ayles I reckon loads. Logic says the lighter horse should be faster. But there is little logic in racing.
Not a bad site that though is it? Full of good stuff

@matt-ayles have a read of this. I got it off flatstats which is a decent font of all knowledge which I refer to regularly.

Should help us get a good discussion going. Interesting stats on the flat anyway. Surprising even.
Very interesting article. I often hear punters saying they won't back a horse under penalty, which I suppose makes sense as they win around 11% of the time, but I wonder how many would choose the horse dropping in weight over one thats under penalty?
-
No joy today. Three matched. All sadly won. -1.5 points

@matt-ayles it is always a consideration but I don’t let lower weight put me off a lay. I’ll chat properly later as I’m pushed a bit for time this morning. Flipping women

@John-Folan have you ever done research with your odds ons into whether the weight plays a part? Lots of odds ons are top weight or near as, but today you also have one that's almost bottom weight.
Laying horses under penalty is always worth investigating, so by the same breath perhaps the same could apply here?
No basis for this assessment, merely a passing thought.
