@john-folan and anyone else who sees this, what time would you say in general the horse markets firm up liquidity wise on UK racing in the morning? I'm thinking around 11/12am but wondering what the Horse guys think!
Depends on the meeting and how much you want to get matched really. Probably an hour before the race for my purposes.

Classic Trobs: Trob any between 3.5-9 as close to the off as you can. Avoid Heavy Ground.

Anyone else looking at the course characteristics in the software as a filter? I am thinking that it is probably more reliable than course filters as there is a much bigger dataset
I think this is a good idea in combination with pace and going. "Galloping" tracks suit longer striding horses that like to, well, gallop, without turning sharply. Sharp courses suit the more nimble horses. "Stiff" courses can knacker the horse out due to the rises, especially when the going is soft.
Glad you agree there. It makes a different in a fair few strategies. Nice datasets as well.

Nothing from me today but a little update and a new strategy in the megathread

Hi Jon I've just started following your back maiden favs strategy, I've noticed last night and this morning that in the 1.00 and 1.35 at Nottingham two different selections were posted, posted posiedon Prince, yesterday , and tephi this morning and the same in the 1.35 , also there's a 20/1 outsider in the 2.00 at bellewstown, can you tell me how to play these do I go with the last named selections or just back the unnamed fav in the the advised races. Many thanks.

@jonathan-jones Thanks Jonathan

@ian-wylie Will be Wine i think. I dont get anything like that on windows. Did have a few issues with fairbot but most resolved after swapping to the streaming api. I have never seen freezing or anything like that.

Was too short. Looks like it did nothing

A day like yesterday would be nice.

Nothing hit the odds range yesterday. Shame as they both would have traded well.

Hi guys,
Was wondering if anyone has come across this situation. I was doing some in play on a race today using Fairbot and thought I had a small profit as per the screenshot from Fiarbot below as Super Chief won the race.
However when I looked at the Betfair web page I saw the following:
The screenshots were taken within a few seconds of each other.
I have noticed a few issues before with Fairbot where it will freeze for a few seconds and then catch up but didn't notice anything like that during this race. Has anyone else come across similar issues?
I've been watching a number of the video's on Alistair Hamilton's YouTube page and he mentioned on one of them that he was having issues with Fairbot freezing now and again. Like him I'm running Fairbot on Linux via Wine so not sure if it's a Fairbot issue or something to do with the Wine implementation.
Cheers,
Ian
