If anyone is looking for some serious fantasy books I can recommend the Malazan Book of the Fallen series. 1st book, 'Gardens of the Moon' will confuse the crap out of you but stick with it. Books 2 through 7 are fantastic. Rumours around that they will be making a film of the second book, 'Chain of Dogs'. If so and IF done properly that could be an incredible film.
Who writes those Matt?
It’s ok found them. You are the second to recommend those. I’ll take the hint!
Sorry John, Steven Erikson, should have mentioned that bit
If you give them a go, be patient with them, I hated the 1st book, but Chain of Dogs is amazing, 3rd book is a little wierd but has some sensational scenes. I also hated the 5th (I think) book, read it a second time a feckin loved it.
Mr Erikson has a no nonsense, no apologies style. He explains nothing to you and there is a cast of what seems like thousands, gods mix freely with demi-gods and mortals and there are many varieties of mortals.
He is meant to be writing a spin off series about one of the characters, Karsa Orlong, I hope he does.
I will give you a little hint as I had to google it. Books 1 and 2 happen at the same time, just in different places, then books 3 and 4 do the same (3 following 1 and 4 following 2, in the same respective places). It all comes together then from book 5 onwards.
I can tell you really like these so I am convinced. In return have a look at the Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan and if you like a bit of sci fi Peter Hamilton is fantastic.

Watched Mortal Engines this weekend, my god I havent been that bored for ages. Sure it looks amazing but beyond that there is nothing, no character development, no solid story. Most interesting character was the metal man and he was a side character with a minimal sub plot.
Have also watched White Boy Rick today. Really good, based on a true story, kept my attention the whole way through. Slow paced film though so dont expect loads of action.

@john-folan Can see how lol £50 each for Madden and FIFA but both on there lol
Actually that’s the other good bit. You get the basic EA Play thrown in as well
PS Now is pretty good, think i got it for around £30 a year, no idea why Sony don't advertise it more!
That's not bad. I'm waiting for a CDKeys.com offer you can save fortunes on all sorts on there.

@john-folan I mean that is a masterstroke for Xbox!
Xbox All Access they call it. The Gamepass saves me a fortune as I don’t need to keep buying him games.

@john-folan Aren't they also doing a £20-30 a month get the console as well set up? Which would be a no brainer.
I nearly ordered the Google one, but then Google have a habit of killing things off people love lol
Yep £28.99 for two years. You get the console and the Gamepass Sub as well. It's a no brainer. I managed to secure one last Tuesday for Joshua for Christmas. Was just going to buy it outright but this is a no brainer. It's back compatible as well so it will play and upscale everything back to Xbox 360 games. I'm going to wait until mid next year to get my playstation 5. No good exclusive games for it yet anyway.

Having both Consoles in the house. I'd say Sony gets the best exclusive games(Spiderman, Uncharted etc.) But an Xbox with the gamepass is the best value gaming you will get.

@keith-anderson That game does look insane! Thinking I might have to buy an Xbox as I want that red dead and cyperpunk
