Lets Give Footie Trading A Go

Saturday trades. I am tired so i haven't given a run down of the trades but if anyone is interested i will do so please ask. I just copied and pasted the data from betfair and took out my P/L and just said if the trade is a winner or not. Its about learning and hopefully for me to help me become accountable for my trades, A little bit of pressure will stop be from placing stupid embarrassing trades where i over stake or chase loses.
I hope this info is useful to people showing the type of trades i am doing. If it isn't useful to others it is useful to me to help me become accountable for my trades and is helping me become a better trader. So i will continue posting for myself and hopefully maybe someone else it will help as well.

Friday I had a a few games on my watch list but nothing inplay came about
Goals were scored too early or inplay stats didn’t provide confidence.
Move onto Saturday with a lot of
Games to track and monitor and hopefully apart from recording slot of results I will jump on a few games. -
Thursday- How did it go?
2 trades I did here on the Real match.
I thought I would talk through these trades as a way of chasing the goal but not risking much liability.Trade 1 = Real Madrid v Getafe : Over/Under 1.5 Goals lost 0.30% (traded out on 50mins)
Trade 2 = Real Madrid v Getafe : Over/Under 0.5 Goal won 0.56%
(trade matched around 60-63mins)What did I do?
I switched my over 1.5 goals to a over 0.5 goals during the secondhalf. So I traded out of the over 1.5 goals for a small loss at around 50mins for 0.30%.Next I put in the market 2% stake for over 0.5 goals at odds above1.60. This would mean if I win I would cover my small loses on the 0ver 1.5 goals and have a small profit.
What happened?
I had to wait around 10-12mins before the over 0.5 goals would have been matched in the second half between 50-60mins. In this time I didn’t really want a goal to be scored before my over 0.5 goal trade would get matched. If a goal would have been scored I would of lost 0.30% from my over 1.5 trade and the 0ver 0.5 trade would have been cancelled as it would not of been matched.Other trades I did
Man City v Liverpool : First Half Goals 0.5 odds were 1.60
Sociedad v Espanyol : Laid Espanyol during second half
Atalanta v Napoli : Over/Under 1.5 Goals in the second half 1.60
Basically a second half goal trade from 60mins onwardsFootball / Sheff Utd v Tottenham : Over/Under 1.5 Goals in the second half odds were 1.75. Basically a second half goal trade around 60mins
Football / Kristiansund v Molde : Over/Under 1.5 Goals at 30mins when 0-0. So a bit like Ryans Split Stake Trade. I didn’t trade out I just kept the trade alive for a full trade profit. Not sure what the odds wer but maybe around 1.65-1.70
**So overall I ended the day with 4% profit from the following trades above.

@gary-brown Nicely done

Well a good start to the month on day 1.
Here are the trades i did
Football / West Ham v Chelsea : Over/Under 1.5 Goals
entered the market around 30mins when odds hit 1.53
Kept the trade alive and was a full winner.Football / Arsenal v Norwich : Match Odds
Backed Arsenal as i saw them totally dominating the game. Odds were around 1.45 so not a bad trade. I do like to go for 1.50 and above.Football / Arsenal v Norwich A,DL (Chelsea MATCH AS WELL) Over/Under 6.5 Goals
At the start if the game I tried a scalp on the market in and out after 2 ticks on this market. I saw this trade on a football traders facebook group. I think the name of the person is called Mario. Maybe a few traders here will know him.Football / Norrkoping v Elfsborg : Over/Under 1.5 Goals
I opted to go for an overs in this match rather than lay the under dog. It was one of John Hurst very successful second half trade selections. He does very well with these and I would recommend anyone to pm him and chat to him about his selections. A good lad he is as well as a good trader.Anyway overall i am 3 points up today continuing the good progress i have made. Very close to have doubled my bank now since lockdown so happy with that.
I am hoping now that i am starting to trade like a pro but with a mini bank.

@gary-brown For me I DEFF trade far worse, even with paper trades, when I am rushed by our dogs or the good lady. Also I just switch the pc off now if I am trying to trade angry. I have a problem with 'Rage-Trade' lol.
I think you are on to the correct ideas about minimising those little mistakes.
-
@gary-brown Seems like you are getting well and truly onto the right tracks here Gary. Lots of positive bank growth but more importantly it seems, at least to my inexperienced eye, like you are thinking deeply and justifying your trades. Long make your green continue

Tuesday 30th June.
Trades
Gks Jastrzebie v Stal Mielec : Over/Under 1.5 Goals
I got on for odds of 1.76 around 40mins. I was going to enter earlier but i switched off and went for a cuppa and came back and saw somwe nice odds and nice inplay stats as well. Entered with small stakes for this one.Football / Torino v Lazio : Match Odds
Saw an opportunity and went for it which was a lay on Torino.
Nice win here.Football / Schaffhausen v FC Vaduz : Match Odds
This one i laid home under dogs at 1.08 when they were 2-0 up and a red card to Vaduz. An amazing winner just wish i had risked at least 1-2% of my bank as i would of been laughing if i had.Football / Warta Poznan v Chrobry Glogow : Over/Under 0.5 Goals
This one I got lucky with my second half goal as I put on double stakes (4%) my accident so my win was double. I guess this makes up for not losing out on the game above by not risking enough on the game.Missed on a few trades such as a FHG in Man U game and over 1.5 goals in Seville both io was about to enter and was waiting for a slightly better price so a couple of minutes away from being matched .
Avoided some trades on my filters today as I just didn't have the vibe form inplay stats to enter them.
Swiz game which involved Sevette and Young Boys.
This was a second half goal game but I decided to avoid it due to inplay stats at half time. Well as they are it was a nice winner as I didn't get on it lol. To be honest the goal may have come a bit early on 55mins.Othe rgames on my watch list tonight include:
Leeds V Luton - Laid Luton when they went 1 ahead. On the daily email list for a come back. It won Leeds equalised and it was nice profit here.Barcelona V Athletico/ Barcelona scored within first 25mins so left this game.
Genoa V Juventus. On 30mins i entered this game as a over 1.5 goals. In play stas looked like Juventus where starting to pick things up a bit so i thought it was worth a shout after a brilliant day.
I have made a big profits today for my small bank and so I may not trade these and just sit back and chill.

Last Nights Trading
Well Monday evening didn't present many opportunities.
I did manage to do a bit of scalping the under 1.5 goal market in the Benfica game. I made just over 1% profit from doing this.I then invested the 1% into the over 0.5 market at around 60 mins and won on the over 0.5 goals market.
So overall I made close to 2% profit out of the Benfica game that I watched.
The other trades did not present trading opportunities. In turkey, Portugal and Spain goals arrived before 30mins so this ruled out those 1.5 goal trades and in one match a red card cancelled this trade as a lay the under dog trade.
Overall very quite but cant complain with the profit for not doing much and it gave me a decent amount of time during the evening to do other stuff than watch football.
So tonight a few games on the filters which I am tracking, recording results and using minute stakes on bet angel basic. I may trade a couple of the games on the filters if I like what I see this evening or I may trade a game not on my filters such as the Man u game.

@gary-brown That is a bloody great analogy!! By getting to the top you've achieved the goal, now you've got to get down safely haven't you.
Love that, what's the plan to keep you from making these little mistakes?
that's a very good question. I am not sure to be honest
Maybe make sure I trade when I am not in a bad mood, stressed, angry etc.
Make sure I am not trading whilst in a hurry or on the go so I am focussed on trading and not distracted.
What do you think ?

@gary-brown Cracking Gary!
What do you think your biggest challenge is now?
I think to continue to be focussed and not become complacent. What I mean is to continue to work hard in selecting matches carefully and not to increase stake and over trade which is an issue when you have recent success. Over confidence can lead to big mistakes.
Its a but like climbing a mountain. You are more likely to have an accident on the way down than when you are climbing as you become complacent after you think you have completed the hardest part of the journey and its the easy bit left to complete now. Hope this makes sense lol

I have just downloaded bet angle basic so hopefully I can give it a go with very small stakes.
i think i will use a bet/lay calculator to work out how much i need to lay at so hopefully this will work and i can get some accurate results that i can track.
well today was an amazing trading day for me.
- i achieved a superb 4 points profit today.
- i have moved my starter bank from £370 to now £680 in the last 2 months.
Fingers crossed it continues.
Moving onwards i am continuing testing the filters using bet angel basic programme that is free to place very small amount of real money on so i get a true picture how the filters are performing and not second guessing.I will continue to trade the odd match where a trading opportunity arises whilst i watch the match.

Thank you everyone for trying to help out.

@gary-brown One thing I sometimes do if the lay odds on the underdog are too high Gary which is normally the case if there is an early goal is I will back the losing favourite.
I don’t like odds above 2.5 for putting a lay bet on but whether I’m backing or laying I will split my stake.
-
To give you an actual. I made like £1.30 from the Ostersunds game today after laying £1.78 @ 2.82.
I laid Minsk @ 1.55 for £1.78 and then again at 1.10 for £1.16 loss. I then laid Fiorrntina @ 2.22 for £1.78 and by the time Lazio equalised I cashed out for £1.10.
Not massive amounts but 1 loss certainly didn't clear out 4 wins.
I made a mistake in laying Hoffenheim and Bremen but I won't repeat that.

it is Martin yeah its hard sometimes.
Odds make a big difference i think somwtimes.Overall i have had a decent day today with a small profit overall.
One area i am struggling a little with is making profit on the come backs.
Alot of the wins are small when traded out and the loses even though their are not many they can hurt.I have only traded small amounts but sometimes it takes 4 wins to make up for a loss.
i have been backing the favourite instead of laying the under dog so to cut down on the liability if a trade loses and the under dog takes a 2 goal lead.
I am only using £10 max stake so it can be really hard with £10 max stake to lay the under dogs and keeping it under £10 max loses. Some of the trades for laying would be around a £2.50 lay if worked out using a bet/lay caluclator. If you trade out after the equaliser you wouldnt win much at all maybe around £1.
I am sure i cant be doing it right?
Would it be possible for you guys to show how it can work using a small bank keeping liabilities under a £10.I'm prob best for under £10 haha. Not sure how 1 Loss is wiping out 4 most of the time on these lays?
