Pre-race trading strategies
-
Hi Guys,
I have spent the last couple of months practicing with Bet Angel in the pre-race markets and it's going fairly well. I do a combination of scalping and range trading and the win / loss ratio is very good. I am using micro-bets and have periodically increased my small bank, only to see it slide a bit when I try a new technique / approach. I have been trading in the period before around 15 min to the start which is a good way of understanding the mechanics of trading and the software. However, this doesn't scale, the market liquidity is too low for that. I have seen quite a few videos where the trading is done in the last 10 min before the start - when the bulk of the money arrives - but I am struggling to translate my experience.
Can anyone help with resources on Order Flow trading? I am especially interested in what sort of indicators are used, and how they inform the trading activity.
There is an approach I'm considering, and I wondered if this is at all useful...
From videos, I have figured out one pattern. If the favorite is trading at especially low odds, and there is a large slug of money keeping it down, often, once that slug is removed, the odds will leap up causing a matching fall in the price of the second favorite. (well, sometimes). The approach is to back the second favorite and exit the market when it hits the bottom of the fall.
I am considering keeping notes on other possible patterns, testing these, and keeping with the ones that are in profit. Does this sound like a good way of approaching these markets?
I know there are a lot of questions here but any feedback would be appreciated.
Cheers
Steve
