On the subject of courses that are good for laying horses I follow a trader on Youtube called Rayza McKay and he did a video on track statistics
which may be of interest. -

I have read somewhere that certain courses are better for laying, but it is not something that I have gone into. Might be an interesting little project though for someone who has the time.
