The open is upon us! I do love a little bit of the golf, even if I don't do it to make money I actually will be using £2 stakes just to make it a bit more interesting.

    I like these guys:

    Rory McIIroy 10.5
    Henrik Stenson 36
    Adam Scott 36
    Matt Kuchar 48

@darri said in The Open 2019:

My picks for the open, will trade the bigger priced picks if they shorten.

£3 Rory Mcllroy @10.5 Is quite short but more insurance as he has course record
£2 John Rahm @18 good form and style suits links
£2 Adam Scott @36 was a toss up between him a Jason Day
£2 Jordan Spieth @44 has in the past been in stinking form but manages to claw back strokes gained at links golf courses
£2 Eddie Pepperell @110 just an outside fancy

Rahm, spieth and pepperell all have traded at half the price i took. I wish i had traded this now instead of a straight back

he's fluffed it, couldnt manage to avoid doing damage to his score... his open race is done... disappointing, unless he pulls out the course record 61 he got when he was 16...

Rory's come back nicely on the back 9, last 2 holes couldve nearly been birdied which wouldve seen him come right back into it... final 3 into the wind now so im sure he will be happy to save par on all 3 and just get back into the club house without doing any damage to his mini come back

@this-guy Birdie there will help though!

and the shite weather will give him an advantage... not sure many of the americans are used to playing in these conditions... lets hope he can find 3 of 4 shots in the back 9 and finish the day on par or even -1...

got in on Rory at 9.5, 8 on the first and he was up at 32, decided to back again as one hole surely doesnt change the fact that he has a good record at the open and is playing at his home course... having said that, day one or not, 10 shots behind is a very bad place to be
