Cracking little day on the dobs and trobs. Worth the wait
-
Nice point from the two selections that hid the odds range today in the same race. I always do multi selections in a race. Software says it’s more profitable

@John-Folan Final question I promise! Well, for 3 weeks anyway....off on holiday tomorrow
When do you generally place your lay? If your horse is lining up at the back that would suggest quite close to the off... or the 10 minutes stated in the description...or somewhere in between? Is this where the dark art of scalping comes into play?
I start looking 10 minutes out then just go for it when I see a point I think it might drift from

@John-Folan Re Dreammaker L2B...Would you do 2 horses in the same race if they fell into your odds range?
No I tend to do one and if I struggle to pick one I just look for the one lining up nearest the back

@Martin Started playing around with it about a month ago. I dont test it as such, I add the selections to a shortlist(along with Johns ones now, and some I get from another provider) and then check them out on that providers stats sheet, for recent class, distance and form. If they pass my requirements I trade them...

@John-Folan For what its worth, this is what Ive been working on(by no means finished). I also put the selections through recent class and distance requirements, which I find easier to do manually...
Thanks for sharing this!
When did you start testing it?
2nd November. It’s slower over winter months.

@Martin I've got bot files for these. I'll sort them out and put them up.

@Tony-Hastie These are revised files I got from the software. I took a load of filters out and looked at the odds ranges. Turns out you can dob from a wider range than you can trob.
You are one of a kind @John-Folan thanks for sharing!
My live trading results.
A cheeky two point trob and a one point dob from the only trade today. These do about the same if you back the trob odds range as win only as well

@John-Folan Just tried it out....went pretty well!
Is there an odds range you aim for? I layed a horse at 20(for £2) and went for 5 ticks and bricked it when i saw it go 1 tick the wrong way
Thankfully it bounced back and nearly did it pre race but made me realise Im gonna need to lay the lower odds selections or Ill get too panicky and trade out prematurely! Im good at that, one of the reasons I like bots...
8-20. You will trade out prematurely. I do it all the time. But I don’t enough to make it very profitable.
Nice dob from 14 today. Won its race as well.

Thanks mate. Also have a serious look at the dreammaker strategy. It’s a manual trade but it’s fantastic. I normally choose slower paced horses according to btc instead of the proform rankings. Works a charm as long as you trade out when it goes wonky

@John-Folan Thanks John, much appreciated. Be interesting to compare to what Ive come up with. Interestingly I never thought to separate the 2! Seems so obvious that would be beneficial now youve said it!
It never occurred to me until I started looking. Results have been ok on the live test. Both hitting the strike rate and return on the software.
I’m testing another couple of methods as well. Will keep the forum updated on those.
