ENG bat some scalping LAY IND hoping for 1.62 BACK ENG hoping for 3.8 .. see if start test green or red
-
The odds in WI v SL are unreal. Don't make any sense to me. WI barely touched 1.4. Crazy

@james-woodroffe Thanks for the help. I wasn't sure if they are always that high to start. I guess at that price you're more gambling than trading.
With no rain forecast a draw is unlikely but you wouldn’t want to lay it at 8 when you could potentially drip lay it at 5.0, 4,0 and maybe 3. Plus you could get more than one opportunity to lay it over the 5 days.
-
@dan-mackinnon they can be quite good value to start with, but normally if they are it’s because the weather is expected to be a factor.
Barring a day 1 collapse like in the last test and the one just played in Abu Dhabi if the team that bats first is on track for a good score it will come in and if they post something over 500 it can come into odds on which is always a great thing. -

I should add also if the team who bats first makes a good start it will come in most likely organically.
So hope India bat first instead of England

@dan-mackinnon Hi Dan, no worries re the "newbie" question mate.
The LTD strategy in test cricket is highly profitable but like all strategies mate you still need it to present value.
The best option is to just play the waiting game and if it comes down to somewhere around the 4.0-5.0 mark that will present better value as well as obviously protecting your bank.
The last test match was crazy and perhaps the pink ball played more than the usual role a pink ball plays.
You might hypothetically have to wait until day 2 or day 3 to get those odds but you might get them after tea on day 1.
I havent checked the odds yet but I imagine they are what close to 9?
Other opportunities will present themselves before a LTD most likely and even if it doesn't happen for this test you will see plenty of opportunities with other tests this year to use it to build your bank.
I hope that helps.I should add also if the team who bats first makes a good start it will come in most likely organically.

Is it worth laying the draw in the India vs Eng test? It's quite high right now, but the last one was wrapped up in 2 days. The difference this time is that it won't be day/night and would probably expect both teams to be more cautious. A draw would also suit India.
Apologises for the newbie questions but I've never LTD with cricket and it seems quite a high liability right now to be wrapped up for potentially 5 days. Looking under the "strategies" section of BTC it said odds would usually be around 3.0-4.0

There is something cathartic, about sticking to your strategies and not panicking and
watching a big Red, turn into just a small green by sticking to what you know works for you.
Just experienced that in the Karachi match. -
@martin-futter there is certainly enough to keep us going.

@nathan-bennett managed a 1.47 lay of Zim out to 1.94 now and looking for Afghanistan to put the foot on the throat.
-
LAY ZIM will again if get 1.4.s
-
@babar-malik there is no rush mate. You do not have to lay it at the start of the test.
Pitches in the UAE tend to be pretty flat from the outset and do not offer much for the bowling side before they start to turn.
With no Rashid Khan, and free to air TV in Zimbabwe for the first time in a decade Zim will want to put up a good show. If whoever bats first bats well that draw price will come into something very layable. -
I welcome the rest day after a really busy Monday for me Don’t know if I should lay the draw in Afghanistan v Zimbabwe. The price is pretty high @James-Woodroffe
-
PSL match postponed till tomorrow which was meant to be a rest day. Afghanistan v Zimbabwe 1st test live on Free Sports tomorrow also from 6am. Free Sports have signed a 3 year contract to show all cricket involving either Afghanistan or Zimbabwe. Great news.
-
@babar-malik it was Fawad Alam and he played in their match on Saturday and nobody else has tested positive. The cynic in me says another false positive from the much maligned PCR testing system but yeah he will be fine.
-
@James-Woodroffe Thanks for the update James. Hope the poor chap is alright. Game on at 4pm then. Best of luck

Todays PSL match has had the start delayed by 2 hours following a positive result for the Rona from a United player.
