Thinking aloud:
BBC and Met office both showing a dry morning, although light could still be an issue. I assume that there will be a full morning session and maybe some on and off this afternoon. so maybe 40-50 overs today. Have to fancy an early wicket or two this morning if the ball swings from the start. Laying the Draw or England will benefit from that. If a partnership builds and/or it starts raining then laying India is the way forward. I think I will wait for an update on Cricinfo regarding the weather and see what the ball is doing early doors. It wasn't swinging much last night, but with more cloud cover this morning it might start hooping.
Plan to LTD early for wickets if swinging, otherwise wait for a partnership to develop and lay India after the first hour.Any comments welcome!
My out-loud thoughts are similar. I feel like there could be a good amount of cricket today if the weather isn't too bad, maybe even 2 sessions worth.
I therefore feel that 1.6 is too short on the draw and the lay is where the value is.
I do however have the same weather sources as you. -

Edit to add: Sibley averages 42 in the 3rd Innings and 46 in the 4th so wouldn't be a surprise to see him grind out an exceedingly slow 50.

Weather speculation
6 sessions to go
Let’s say we get minimum 4 in thats 140 odd overs
ENG trail by 70 at current RR they could level scores in just under a session
3 sessions remain
How do ENG pour enough runs on to bowl IND out
Hard to see ENG winning
Lay some @9.6
If IND had a sniff to run down say 4.5 an over reckon would attempt to win -
@clare-taylor Hi Clare, welcome! Fairly new myself and feeling my way in.

Draw 1.7 overs or unders long term ?

Just thought I’d pop by and introduce myself, I joined yesterday so am getting a feeling for the site. Cricket is my favourite sport (thanks to my dad!) and I work my schedule around test matches!
It was actually looking at cricket odds and how they change that made me first think about trading and start doing some research. Which brought me here.
I am reading everything with interest and following the odds closely for this match.

Go IND want odds on

Have closed out India lay at 3.65 could be a tricky night for me to trade but will see where it takes me. Writing off tomorrow as I’ll be flying home so will see if I can add a bit more green tonight if India get back to around 3 or a bit less to lay them again.
Bugger was heading back to hotel when I closed and now it’s raining again.

If Accuweather is to be believed, doesn't look like there will be any more play before lunch. But my radar is a little more positive, with the rain clearing around 12.35. No doubt they'll take lunch when the sun is shining!

Didn't quite make it to 4, but still a nice lucrative short term trade.

I Got out of that quick when the first drop of rain fell!

Laying the draw to start with I think. Looks like we'll get some play for a little while and could be action stations this morning with Pant in and India with the worst tail in history.
Brave move. Hope it works out in the long run.

I’m afraid It’s just started raining in Leicester where I am about 25 miles away if not at Nottingham already likely to be there soon
-
If things go to plan I could easily see India drifting to 4 and above pretty quickly.
-
Hoping to get a lay of India in just above 3. Even with Pant at the crease, I can't see them going too gung-ho straight away and with rain likely within the first half-hour should be in a strong trading position.
-
@richard-futter play starting 11 correct . cheers for all this
also you'd assume both camps would know so theory batsmen perserve (or try too) there wicket
except pant naturally ha -
Looking at radar, seems we will get a prompt start with some light rain likely around 11.15 but only for a short while. After that looks as if there will be a more substantial fall around 12.15, followed by showers throughout the rest of the day, interspersed with brighter spells. Another on-off day it seems, which should make for some more nice swings.
Laying India just ahead of likely rainfall should make for a win-win situation. If a wicket falls we're quids in, if not the rain should see them drift anyway. That's the theory!
