@tom nice work. I laid England also early in their innings before the 2 wickets and getting Root before stumps is massive. Someone will have to step up tomorrow and England will still bat last. Will be another absorbing test.
-
Roots gone, massive wicket for India especially at this time of day. England still strong favourites in the markets eyes, going to be a great few days for trading.
-
@tom let’s hope it’s well founded!
-
Only a 15 tick price movement after those wickets, the market has a lot of confidence in Root. Laid England at 1.4

Cracking days work again from our bowlers. Is this following the same pattern as Headingly?

Couldn’t resist such an early drop to 3.7 on the draw lay this morning after just a few overs, can England wrap this up in the last session of the day. I’ll be taking liability out of the draw lay and hopefully jumping back in later in the test.
-
@nathan-bennett Haha good luck with that. Draw is desperate to get back down to 4/5

In a good spot but yet to green up. Think I’ll give it 20 mins after lunch 6.0 is the lowest I’ll let it run.
Greened up and Jadeja fell almost immediately to push it out to 9’s but all good as these things happen.
-
Hoping draw hits 30’s and back it for England’s INNS

Couldn't have worked out better. Hope everyone is making lots of dosh
-
Working out very nicely. You could just sense things changing.
-
Starting with a nice sized green thanks to that wicket. Really can't see this finishing in a draw.
-
@richard-futter got it at 3.70 does seem short.
-
Things livening up; 3.65 looks way too short to me so I'm having a small lay of the draw now.
-
Looks flat at the moment, so I'm resisting the temptation to lay the draw just yet. Something under 3.5 would be nice.
PS. I misled everyone earlier on; India did win one Test at The Oval back in 1971, when one of my favourite ever cricketers Faroukh Engineer kept wicket for the tourists. How could I have forgotten that?
-
@richard-futter scores more runs than him ? Yes he seemed an obvious selection. Odd
-
Good decision from Root to bowl I would think, although it can be risky at The Oval; any rain will be very limited according to the BBC weatherman a couple of minutes ago. A light shower maybe but any loss of play can be made up at the end of the day, and by Sunday and Monday we're talking hot sunshine, which makes the omission of Ashwin a stinker of a choice. I don't know what he's done to upset Kohli but it must have been very serious!
