I don't think England will come back to the crease for their second innings unfortunately.
-
@nathan-bennett if ever they needed a massive innings from Kohli and Pujara to bat for two days it’s today. Ireland v Zimbabwe T20 today also starting in about an hour.
-
Do we see IND 40-0 and 1.2’s #clutching
-
@nathan-bennett I heard tonight on the coverage 8 matches over 4 days before a rest day and change of pitch. Will be interesting to see how it plays out cause traditionally a good batting deck.
-
Yep CPL pulled me out of sticky mess last couple days
Think 140 ish maybe defended a fair bit
Last night example team chasing goes real short early like 1.15 after PP don’t be afraid to make some coin laying that -
A good day today with the CPL and the Blast just under 5 points for the day. Brilliant effort from Somerset just now and Guyana earlier on a pitch that offered heaps for quicks and the spinners.
Doubt I’ll stay awake for the late CPL match but tempted after what I saw this afternoon to lay both at 1.40 if the pitch plays the same. Hopefully India can put up a rearguard in the 2nd dig but not holding out a great deal of hope. -
Loads of great cricket at the moment and plenty of trading opportunities being thrown up, loads of low laying ops which are my personal favourite.
Whilst I’m thrilled England have such a strong hold at Headingley it’s not really leaving much to trade. If India can get last two wickets tomorrow and come out batting strong or any hint of rain it could all change.
-
@james-woodroffe in my head already thinking how useless against spin all these batters will be
Could simply trade this
Revert to later overs to back batting teams to close out the INNS -
@nathan-bennett plenty of pace and carry and bounce also.
-
First 3 wickets to spin CPL
-
New ball in ten overs, might have a small back of India
-
@luke-weston not at all jeleous ! punt well drink more ha
-
Quite chilly at Headingley today. Doesn’t feel like it will swing much but can’t really tell from where I am.
-
@nathan-bennett yeah there’s definitely some dodgy spin friendly wickets in the Caribbean but I wonder if the decision to play all the matches in St Kitts this season might well be that it will bring back the spectacle? Fans like batting friendly T20’s and St Kitts should deliver.
-
@james-woodroffe intrigue . no factual look up but recall a fair few matches last year pitches aweful and batting impossible spin just took the p**s
-
CPL returns this afternoon - tomorrow morning with all matches being played at Warner Park in St Kitts and in a boost for cricket in the Caribbean the RETURN of crowds!! Warner Park is pretty small capacity wise holding just 8,000 and 4,000 will be deemed maximum capacity for the CPL.
All match days will be double headers and we will also see some triple headers towards the backend of the tournament.
Warner Park is a very batting friendly venue and it gets easier to bat as time goes on so expect a lot of “We will bowl” from Captains winning the toss.
Chasing has almost become the norm in T20 cricket so this shouldn’t really surprise anyone.
The average score batting first is 155 but the average winning score after batting first is 184 so as we can see there’s a sharp difference there in what’s competitive so the teams batting first really need to be pushing at 9+ an over to give themselves a chance. -
Been listening on the radio (LW) and it’s about 45/50 seconds ahead of sky pictures (tho the sound quality is awful )
-
Interesting little bit of trivia. The last time a test was won by a team who had nobody pass 20 in the first innings? Yep Headingly 2019
-
@richard-futter strange things do happen at Headingly and today is up there with the strangest days I’ve seen anywhere. Oh well just gotta laugh.
