@Stuart-Wallace I’m currently up in central London and can confirm it’s definitely raining. The Met Office has it as dry but my wet work clothes says otherwise! It’s really grey here so doubt it’s any better a couple of miles down the road

From Cricinfo this morning...
9.40am: Morning all, quick update on the weather. There's been plenty of rain around the south of England overnight, and every chance of a delayed start - although it is currently dry at The Oval, just the main cover in place and the groundstaff going about their business. So keep your fingers crossed -
ive checked on radar, and looks like we could get first session in, then a big splosh of rain between 2 and 3, which could basically wash out most of the session.
Should AUS lose 2/3 wickets in first session, then dont think they will go for it in last session needing, say, 150 to win.
So, might look to exit my back of draw, then re-enter circa 13.45. -
As Nathan mentions,Oz still need 2.5 sessions to get the runs, 1) will they get those sessions? 2) will they go for it? 3) the way that Khawaja and Labuschagne batted 1st innings i doubt a run chase 4) dont forget ENG can place negative field settings ( i know its not their style).
im staying with my draw back for time being - if the start is delayed by an hour then i think AUS will just bat out the day and take their 2-1 win. -
It looks unlikely an entire session will be lost but there will almost certainly be interruptions and possibly a delayed start at The Oval.
Whatever happens we should bear in mind that Australia still have an awful lot to do. Only once in their history have they managed to chase down a total of this magnitude in England - and that was 75 years ago when their team included the greatest batsman in the history of the game.
If they do it today I will take my hat off to them and say well done, but there's still every chance there will be twists and turns before the fat lady sings.

Someone tell me we’ll lose a session today
Then load the draw back ha -
I layed Aus first thing this morning, just come back from a day out with no signal and astonished Aus are 135-0. However, I'm not losing faith on this. I remember Glenn McGrath saying the older ball has swung more, if not then we'll have the new ball soon enough, also a day 5 pitch and still 249 to get. If Aus get this then well done to them and happy to lose this trade. However, if a cluster of wickets and green appears then I'll be removing some liability then monitoring as it could be a close one.

@Martin said in BTC Cricket Trading Thread:
@Nathan-Bennett don't think draw is getting enough respect here going to need around 2 1/2 sessions unless they don't lose any wickets. Any rain tomorrow could kill that easily.
That said I'm not adding any more liability to my big red on the cashout button here, already thinking if it's a loss and Aus do go on to win, oh well move on just would love some rain. Forecast seems 50/50 from what I can see.
draw came in a lot since I posted, should have just risked it!
-
Gong to rain until 6 o'clock at least, so can't see there being any more play today. Tomorrow looks a bit hit and miss; I think there'll be interruptions, so definitely a day for keeping an eye on the radar.
-
Yep, agree. There is rain around tomorrow too - no need for AUS to go for it. Can only see a draw tbh. Have backed the draw , however, have a red to deal with .
This is one of those matches where you sit down and think, 'why did i get involved in a weather affected match ?' - often its a case of you feel like you have to take a position regardless, but this match has shown why patience is the key. -

What’s forecast Monday
Extra overs added
Slow over rates won’t help ha -
Is the forcast suggesting when it rains, thats us done for today?
Worth a draw back in that case?
-
@Richard-Futter @Martin thanks. I’m obviously getting influenced by the Australian commentary on Sky!
Also, just because these 2 are doing well doesn’t mean the whole batting lineup will be scoring 50s
-
Still a lot of runs needed and things can change quickly in Test cricket.
-
I guess the silver lining is if we lose at least we would have lost the Ashes anyway!
@Dan-MacKinnon depends how much you can get back, if you think they will now win and if that's worth it to you at this stage, not much point on mine as loss would be most of stake so will stay in
-
Murder draw lays under 10 perhaps
Bugger wish stayed on that lay just before lunch
-
Not to be pessimistic, but at what stage would you look to get out of this AUS lay?
I get rain is a possible factor but we also need wickets soon
