India batting first; quite like the look of SA at 3.8 early on. They have a good attack on home soil and the Indian batting could be a little light in the conditions. But the percentage call is probably a lay of India around 2.7, as that means the weather is on our side too. Should be an interesting first session.
-
Time to move on to South Africa v India I reckon. Should be a far more competitive affair, weather allowing.
-
Backed Australia yesterday at 1.65 as the last time I checked they were around 1.4 pre match.
Did all the research into selection, weather etc and couldn't work out why they had drifted so much.
Have now laid at 1.12.Ideally want Aus to bat forever so the draw comes back in to lay off the green sat there.
As i type Aus lose a wicket.
-
When do we think England will be batting again? Around lunch time on day three looks about right!
-
Good first session of cricket, pitch doesn't look bad and I was favouring the draw as a back to lay. Now unsure whether Englands under performing batting line-up can bat 120+ overs to give th edraw a chance. Perhaps if Stokes looks okay its worth staying with the draw in hopes of the improving batting of butler + bairstow.
Lay to Back England this morning has been good, pitch looked too good to me to suggest Australia wouldn't bat long on it . -

Openers lasted just over half an hour.... about par for England these days. Root and Malan again left to pick up the pieces.

Having said that, I have had a small lay of England at 5, just in case Crawley - with an average of 11 this year - makes an early exit. Would hardly be a surprise.
Yep, me too at 5.1 , all indications that its gonna be a juicy morning, cant see Crawley surviving long.
What sort of odds would you expect if there is an early wicket?Answer is about 6 - not a big diff tbh. Might wait for Crawley to get out and then green up
So predictable, greened up and off to bed.

Never mind, going to be a very interesting morning. Can England's batting survive an early Aussie barrage? Seems unlikely, but you never really know until you see an early over or two.
-
AUS win toss and will bowl
-
Terrible coverage from BT Sport. Didn't give us the live toss. Tossers!
-
Just been reading that the last game at MCG was a juicy pitch, and Boland took 8 wickets, including hitting several batters in the helmet.
Might be a good time to back ENG if they win toss , and then early wickets. -
A green pitch and an overcast sky, so there's talk of perhaps bowling first in Melbourne. I'd still be surprised if that happens - but I'm often surprised at this team's decisions these days!

England game start delayed by rain.
