AUS ENG DRAW market easing like yday before ball bowled
Hopefully it’s actually the sun and not bots -
AS a slight aside to the current Tests currently going on....
It seems in my short time as a 'trader' that the safest way to profit is via the LTD (on selected Tests of course).
In looking at this , i thought i would see how many Internationals England play in 2022 (as i imagine England to be the team playing the most during the year and was astonished to find that they have scheduled....
15 Tests
9 ODIs
18 T20s
Playing 7 different international teams in the process (Oz,WI,NZ,Neth,IND,SA and Pak)AND they are playing in the 2022 T20 World Cup.
My thought was ..... plenty of opportunities to profit !
EDIT : Just checked OZ, and they are playing 17 Tests in 2022 !
So, i would guess there is a total in excess of 50 Tests being played around the globe in 2022 - which led me to this link http://www.howstat.com/cricket/Statistics/Matches/MatchList.asp?Group=2021010120211231&Range=2021
which shows that out of 45 Test Matches played in 2021, there were only 7 draws- 2 of which were played at Antigua.
Which led me to look at the stats since 2015, which shows that there have been 262 Test matches globally, of which 42 have ended in draws. So, about 16 per cent. 3 grounds seemed to crop up regularly for draws, notably Antigua (3), Sydney (4), and Lords (3) -

Stumps, really impressive bowling attack from India and equally impressive defensive batting from SA, especially Elgar whose taken some hits.
Rishabh Pant has been hilarious too!
Can someone check to see if Elgar has English grandparentage ?!

Couple more wickets before end of day and will be a completely different game, step up Thakur!
-
Petersen looks a fine player, belying the Test avg of 14 prior to this Test. However, you get the feeling that he might not look the same polished player once he's been roughed up by the likes of Cummins,Starc,Wood,Shaheen,Archer,Haris and potentially Bumrah
-
Petersen is starting to show some promise so this could be a crucial partnership for SA but the pressure on this lad will be immense
-
Got a back in of India at 1.98 just before tea looking for the breakthrough to come either before or just after tea. The Markram wicket has justified that decision so will now be interesting to see how SA respond after such a promising start.
-
got in at 2 and 1.7, 3 strikes and your out Markram, hopefully 2-3 more this session
-
yep and i could entertain laying fav in the 1.2's for a swing
-
I'm going to start drip laying from here, SA are doing great but we all know the score here, wickets will come and wickets will change the game.
-
I think it’s the middle lower order where SA will come undone if nobody in that top 3 really stands up.
-
@stuart-wallace I agree and whilst I would definitely prefer to be in India’s camp I can’t ignore Ellgar’s grit and the fact that Peterson although young in his career looks a proper test batsman. and add Markram and Bavuma SA have the guys who it wouldn’t surprise if they got them in a position of confidence. First hour huge.
-
33 extras in Indias 2nd innings, hard to see India giving away anywhere near that amount which makes the chase seem harder and yet SA are steaming in, hopefully get them to odds on and that's where i'll be looking to lay
-
SA/IND - this is going to be an interesting first hour to trade. India showed you can make partnerships, and i dont think the pitch is as bad as the scores suggest - a lot of batters have got out with over aggressive shots (think Pant), and a lot of strangles down leg side.
Couple of variables to begin this innings....1) new ball 2) effect of roller. The first hour is going to be crucial. -
@matt-ayles i'd say the odds are bob on at the moment, be interesting to see how SA can come in, laying them will be my play I think
An early wicket and India could never rise above it's current 1.5 so avoiding that one

so that's it, we stand at a 239 run lead
hopefully SA get off to a good start and we can see close to odds on
It's a delicate position isn't it.
I felt that at 1.6 India were a backable price to defend this lead. At 1.5 it seems a little short, however not short enough for me to be confident in the lay...
Think for me a decent opening partnership, push India back up to anything above 1.6 is ok, if you can get 1.8 - 2 that's cracking.

@stuart-wallace easy lay

Carrying on from the NZ/BAN result, would sorta expect slightly better odds on NZ on the second Test than the first ? - being played at Hagley Oval Christchurch , where there has only been 1 draw in 9 Tests, and NZ have only lost once. Would expect NZ to come out a bit more fired up.
I assume Williamson is out?
