Laying 1.2 till end INNS see where that’s at then
-
ok, got my first 1.4 lay taken by KKR
-
Be interesting to see where the runs line opens, it's 178.5 on bet365 at the moment, not too far away IMO, hopefully be able to get an entry here if a slow start or wicket
-
@stuart-wallace it's max capacity of 25% crowds

Can't wait for IPL kicking off today, will be interesting to see how liquidity compares to last season.
Quite like the fact we are limited to 4 grounds as well, makes pregame research a little easier.
What an opening game today as well, first T20 i've traded in nearly 4 weeks so will be easing myself back in with smaller stakes.
thanks Tom, didnt realise only 4 grounds used .
Noticed that todays game is at Mumbai - i wonder if this will affect the crowd numbers, unlikely i suppose given Indias fanaticism for cricket. -

@stuart-wallace With this one you just leave it to get matched during the match, as with close games both sides should hopefully hit 1.5 at some point during the match.
same as the 1.4 method in the strategy section? i'll try this on the ipl games
Yes, thats an interesting one, i have just read it. I might give that a go for todays game, and see what happens as both teams seem evenly matched.

@stuart-wallace This is only my 2nd IPL so I'll still be using min stakes etc.

I'll be looking at pre-laying both teams at 1.5. The swings and liquidity during these games is insane.
How many ticks are you looking to scalp ?

@matt-ayles Going to be my first IPL too, and would be interested to hear from anyone who has traded it before. Must be some stats out there - i'll do a bit of poking around.
I notice today is first game CSK v KKR at 14.00 - going against CSK - any team that has Chris Jordan in its squad has to be a bit underwhelming !
-
74 IPL games over the next 2 months... sounds like an opportunity but this is my first IPL (as an aspiring trader) and I'm unsure what the best strategies are...
I'm considering a back/lay of the batting team in the powerplay based on the historical data of runs per batsman v wickets per bowler during those periods etc with the aim of acquiring 20 ticks.
However has anyone any experience of this? How often do form figures actually hold up?
-
@tom-david-1 100%. A wicket could move that line 20 runs. A partnership could do the opposite. Patience is key
-
I do a lot with run lines but only use ground data, the run lines get thrown out of line with wickets in T20 which is crazy really, an early wicket and a reduced run line is usually your friend here.
-
Sure. It's nothing too complex, it's just my predicted 1st innings totals based on my own data set looking at a few different score factors to blend me a line. I do it do it to remove emotion. Based on that I can hit run markets.
Also based on that line and starting price, if I find the batting side has drifted despite being on track to hit that line it presents value in match markets.
Me too re lines Andy (a bit in th dark) - maybe you could explain the concept and thought process ?

@nathan-bennett still learning angles to attack the shorter forms. I'm finding understanding lines/par scores is an angle that allows me to slow down a volatile market and attack when I think it's value. Still no where near it in 50 over cricket but there's only so many runs you can get in 20 overs.

@andy bit beyond me that . Sometimes I’ll have a line bet in play toward back end first INNS
Interesting to see and if anyone else chimes in with thoughts
