Lets get under 2.5 again please Windies
-
Indias game IMO, I know it's still early doors but this is a big ask for WI agaisnt this attack
-
Brooks has got himself stuck in mud here - can see him out in next couple of overs playing aggressive shot.
WI are poor at rotation - generally looking for big expansive shots, therefore if its a tougher wicket, they are more likely to get 'stuck'
-
Krishna looks impressive - first time i've seen him bowl.
2-0-2-2 so far -
thing i've noticed about todays game, is that Holder is due in at 6. Now, Holder is not a bad batter, but not good enough for 6 imo, therefore the WI tail looks fairly long.
-
@tom-david-1 Nice one Tom.

@stuart-wallace One thing i've just realised, as mentioned on Cricinfo, is that, although the wicket appears tricky now, the likely later dew could lead to a more batter friendly wicket. So, possibly re-look at situation circa 20/25 overs and re-evaluate.

@matt-ayles Its a feel thing for me , state of pitch, batsmen in, bowlers bowling and likely about to bowl (for example, it might be obvious, but i will always lay the batting team when i know when Rashid is about to come on - usually between overs 10-15, and then just take the green at end of spell) , howvere, generally speaking i will always lay the batting side expecting an early wicket, especially if they are chasing a total in excess of 250. I wont normally look at batting side unless they have top 4 exceptional players.
For example, in the current game, i have layed WI at 1.8 thinking that the wicket is tricky , and therefore early wickets are likely (especially given the brittleness of WI batting). Will likely look to green up circa 3.5 or maybe let run should i think that a collapse is imminent (quite regular with WI !) -
Laid West Indies 1.69
-
as far as match odds
be keen to back IND when spin come on -
that's a good shout, West Indies lay is starting to look nice to me but will sit on my hands for now
-
Backed runs under 245.5
Siraj at #8 india must be cast lower order -

Wouldn't think this was out of Indias reach yet, certainly seems tricky to bat on early doors though
i havnt been watching the game, but is the pitch tricky ?
Any score over 220 will be tough ?
Yes for sure, i'd like to see India with 230+
-
@matt-ayles easier way is to back a bowler you rate in my opinion in short format, I now tend to just sit and wait for that one big opportunity when you can see there is a mistake in the pricing and lump on that.

Lowest score defended in an ODI at this venue is 196 (by Windies v India in 1988)
dont forget though Matt that this is a new Ahmedabad stadium so pitch conditions yet to have any real data
-
Trying to learn more about how to trade the shorter formats and look for shorter exposure time in the market.
So i went in on India at 1.87 and exited at 1.7 for just 0.1 points. My thoughts were that you'd repeat the process a few times to build the green, although India built a good partnership and ended up around 1.4 so I've not reentered yet...
Is that the right kind of approach?
-
@matt-ayles i'd be surprised if India don't get close to 250 from here
