@richard-futter brilliant as always.
At the prices I am drawn to an India back... I feel like Crawley especially is a walking wicket and Lees has been hit or miss. Although as mentioned, India are without key batsmen too...
I'm put off by the draw price, I'd prefer to lay that nearer 3s than 4s.
Certainly see why folks are struggling to make a call here.

The Tests continue to come thick and fast, and today's opening day of the delayed final Test between England and India at Edgbaston should be fascinating.
Backers are hugely favouring England, largely because of their outstanding showing against World Test Champions New Zealand and the fact that the Tourists are without their top two batsmen Rahul and Rohit.
But India will present a very different challenge. The Kiwis had no top-rated spinner in their ranks, whereas the team from the Sub Continent have two in Ashwin and Jadeja, while their pace trio of stand-in skipper Bumrah, together with Shami and Siraj are the equal of the New Zealand seam attack in my opinion.
Ashwin was left out by Kohli last summer. I'll be astonished if Bumrah follows suit. Equally surprising would be the omission of Pujara. Yes, he had a disappointing time of it last summer but he's possibly the most difficult man to dismiss in world cricket, and scored centuries and double centuries for fun while playing for Sussex in the County Championship earlier this season.
Despite, the odds, I see it as being pretty much a 50-50 call, with the edge possibly just going to Stokes' men as they've had the chance to build momentum during that combative three match series against NZ.
There should be a big advantage in batting first, with conditions looking perfect today, and odds will tumble on whoever wins the toss - unless they make a huge mistake by inserting the opposition.
The big question is whether Bairstow & Co can play the same happy go lucky style against the Indian spinners as they did against a very tired NZ attack; it could be a very different story this time round.
As for the draw, no one will be shocked to hear that I'll be very happy to lay all the way if it drops at all from its current price of around 4. Edgabston is very much a result wicket, and India will be itching to score their first ever victory there, while a stalemate is of course of no use at all to England.
I don't think that will be in Stokes' thinking for a single millisecond!

didnt expect the SRI game to be over so quickly.
-
@kevin-gedny a little bit of rain forecast early in day, so draw price might squeeze in a little, gonna Q up a little at 3.8

ENG v IND
I’m finding it difficult to get a read on this game.
I’m not sure England can continue with their blazing batting, but then again India must be under prepared and they’ve never won at Edgbaston
Does this simply mean LTD even at 4+?
-
SRI game progressing quite nicely
-
AUS SRI
not much green to start today
Have had a lay AUS 1.28 would like 1.6's
and very much will entertain a lay around 1.1's for 1.3 target -
Richard, got any thoughts on the long India price?
EDIT: IND have slipped out to 4

ENG v IND tomorrow.
No draw at Edgbaston for last 6 Tests.
Weather looks good for all 5 days.
With new ENG attitude towards matches then full on excitement with a result being the likelihood.
Eng bring back Jimmy instead of Overton which lengthens the tail , India are without Rohit, Bumrah takes over captaincy...
England: 1 Alex Lees, 2 Zak Crawley, 3 Ollie Pope, 4 Joe Root, 5 Jonny Bairstow, 6 Ben Stokes (capt.), 7 Sam Billings, 8 Matthew Potts, 9 Stuart Broad, 10 Jack Leach, 11 James Anderson -

@stuart-wallace what motivation is there for the win other than pride etc?
For India, i dont think they need motivation, prob full house, prob mostly Indian fans, will look to cement their top 2 in the Test League.
Talking of the Test League, I notice England have shot up the table to 5th, only now 3 points behind NZ, so big incentive/motivation for England, not that the new regime lacks either.

Playing again. With more rain in the offing, though, no real chance of a result.

Lunch at 1.30 today and, if some forecasts are to be believed, there might not be a whole lot of play after that. Not surprising that the draw price is heading towards 1.4.
-
