Must be soul destroying for seamers bowling on a surface like this. It's possible the sun will cause the pitch to break up on days 4 and 5, but I'm not convinced either side has a world class spinner capable of making serious inroads into the opposition batting.

England out to 3. Lovely jubbly
Almost through 4 now.

as soon as pak avoid follow on draw 1.01 ???????????? ha
-
Exit Eng lay at 3.65, although a very low draw lay is on the cards here.
I'll be very tempted to use some green if it gets down towards 1.1 or something as you never know with England... only thing is, Pakistan bat second and could bat for the next 3 days the way this pitch is playing. -

AUS LAY 1.06 half my green
1.12-1.18 be great for 75% of that invest back and monitor -
just got home from optus staduim doesnt appear BONNER is coming back to bat today from being retired hurt
-
@matt-ayles nar mate im firing again when WI bat second time round for a swing
-
nice quick WIN wickets, just dripped a bit more LTD - figured that windies will likely be 300 behind and put back into bat around or before tea tomorrow , no way will they survive.
letting my ENG lay run at moment with small green, will look to take out liability should PAK reach EOD with 2 wickets down -
England lay is on.
Still no entry in Aus game as think I've missed the opportunity there.
-
I'm liking the lay of England at anything around evens. Gotta figure the Pakistan batsmen, in home conditions, will make it a long, hard slog for England's rather thin looking bowling attack.
-
Iβm always critical of Nathan Lyon no idea how heβs so good maybe 99% of his wickets come on day 5
Just never flights the ball itβs amazing
Protecting his stats
Go the West IndiesTook some 1.42 aus
Books looking real good -
At the ground today AUS WI
these are batting conditions
Hopefully WI can apply themselves take game deepTrades
Greened up start of day and since LAY AUS with half green
1.6 be amazingUnbelievable took 1.6 and wicket boom
-
also undecided on my AUS WI book
semi thinking could be swings on wickets / mini partnerships
considering greening up and doing this for the top 5 batters if evidence -
@stuart-wallace I entered ENG LAY 2.06 not even concerned at this stage I would absolutely lay again if half that 1.5-1.6 ish
May even lay more change of INNS as this is when market potentially drift swiftly especially if evidence the ball is no danger -
Exited my Pak Lay
Lay England @ 1.8
Back WI over 319

From the BBC...
'The close-of-play score of 506-4 the most runs any team has ever scored on the first day of a Test - and England only faced 75 overs. If they had been afforded the full 90, their scoring rate of 6.74 would have got them to 607.'
This is new trading territory !
-
i'm running with a small red on both games at moment, if AUS take 2/3 wickets in first session then that will change.
ENG game....hmmm, now this is a scenario not seen before....500 runs on first day. Means we could be looking at a declaration half way thru 2nd day with 700 on board !
Thats massive scoreboard pressure.
This means that PAK will likely have to bat for equivalent amount of time to get to , say, 500, to avoid the follow-on (although England wouldnt enforce it anyway).
So, still 2 days to play, and England to bat again, they would look to make PAK bat again for another 1.5 days to save the Test. !!!OK, Rawalpindi pitch historically gets flatter as the Test goes on, i am just wondering what this scoreboard pressure will do.
My England lay i am a bit worried about tbh.
Forgive my ramblings. -
@nathan-bennett I'll have to assess the odds etc this evening, see if there's a good entry point. Not looked but assuming England are less than 2.0...
-
ENG 1000 by lunch tmr ??? This amazing
