for those people unsure of the Power Surge....

The Power Surge. The 'Power Surge' is a two-over period during which the fielding team is allowed only two players outside the inner fielding circle. The batting side can call for this at any point from the 11th over of their innings.

Manuka Oval quite a big scoring ground generally, so laying the bowling team at the right point should pay dividends. When the power surge is called should be one of those points.

Oh and sorry to post again but...

What are you go to sites for stats about teams, grounds and weather?

The rainfall radar coverage in Aus is excellent; find it much easier to judge when the rain is likely to come from that than any weather sites which can be wildly inaccurate.

Betfair cricket has excellent analysis and team news ahead of matches, with stats and tips (although I wouldn't set too much store by those!)

@gavin-rumsey espncricinfo.com probably your best bet

    Agree with this.

I also like Cricbuzz for venue averages as it comes up on google search homepage.

Weather is an interesting one. I've found the met office app good in the UK but i tend to ask other members on here for Australia/NZ etc as they live there!

Thanks for the responses all. I'm a teacher so not about a lot of the term time T20 games but test matches and weekends are usually good for me and Xmas hols start on Fri so will follow some big bash.

Already managed to make money (very small stakes) from ltd over the tests so think that'll be a way forward to start with.

Be nice learning from you all here and hopefully be able to give some thoughts along the way.

Big Bash starts tomorrow, times look decent for trading. Any thoughts? Any reason the low lay strategy wouldn't work?

Lots to catch up on. Some great reading here, sounds like profit was made in abundance on the tests. Nice work all.

@gavin-rumsey I can't add much more than the others but agree that the laying at 1.1 (or lower) in an attempt to flip (or better) your liability into profit is a really good one. Just have to follow the matches as you can get trap games like the England W v Windies W T20 yesterday which was completely one-sided. Just about knowing the capabilities of the 2 sides.

Hi all. Fingers crossed for a good Eng session tomo.

I've been trading football without success for a fair while so since joining here have been following this thread and looking at cricket. I know a lot more about it and feel much more confident making my mind up about potential swings and value.

Just wondering if anyone uses the BTC strat of laying both teams at 1.4 pre match in T20? Any success or thoughts?

1.4 strategy i also found weak. hardly ever occurred and quickly abandoned.
The main strategy used by most is @Nathan-Bennett 1.1 lay in 20/20 and LTD in Tests.

1.1 strategy used today to huge effect in Galle game - i've found it to be the best strategy for 20 20... small risk, big (and often) reward- thank @Nathan-Bennett and @matt ayles for doing the leg work for this ...and putting it out there too.
