Quite a static market in Rajkot. Need England to get into bat and score some substantial, quick runs to even up the odds a bit.
-
IND LAY for me at the mo
Think rock bottom -
whats thoughts re LTD on ENG game? im really undecided at present as to what way to go - leaning on LTD once ENG start batting but then know that if Crawley and Duckett go their usual pace and score a thousand runs in first 10 overs then draw price will swiftly come in - but will it? However, should there be quick wickets then price will move out.
hmmm, undecided. -
NZ SA
NZ LAY 1.13 rude not to for a swing
Spin looking threatening enough still 150 odd to win
BANG
TIMING
1/4 stake back 1.26 -
nz V sa game is a bit of a conundrum...
Would be the biggest chase ever at that ground.
However, its generally thought to be SA's third choice bowling attack - albeit Paterson and Piedt have looked a handful so far this game.
Another strange thing for me was that Brand took 9? wickets in first Test , yet didnt even bowl himself in 1st innings !
As usual, Williamson (and now Ravindra) will be walls that SA will have to push through.
Might have a large lay of NZ for first 5 overs or so to see what is possible.
Might do the same with ENG.
Sarfaraz looks a good player, however, you would think he would struggle in somewhere like England. -
Happy to lay 1.37 INDIA
-
The draw price has been roller coasting quite nicely in Rajkot - dropped as low at 5.5 before hitting 20 briefly and is now down to around 8. This looks an excellent batting track so I could easily see it dropping to around 5 again.
-
@Stuart-Wallace Nice one!
-
wow, thought id take large NZ lay at 1.17 as it was last over of day, and Conway was facing..et...voila....BINGO. Recovered loss from earlier.
-
yeah, took a loss too. However, nulled that with AUS W.
Had a big lay on NZ at 1.3 that ive also exited - was thinking of Conways lack of form.
Cant watch any of games as currently power cut for another 30 mins -
AUS W v SA W
AUS LAY 1.03 having a poke will take half stake out 1.06 green the lot 1.12side note so weak Healy choosing to field in the heat surely no one does this
how do you not bat and put on a show versus weak oppositioncertainly not great viewing for the 5 people that paid to watch ha
...
didnt put alot of thought into this pre game looking back 1.4 aus wow huge price -
IND ENG
Draw back of 7.6 abort at 40% loss if reaches and suss another angle later
...
LOSS TAKEN -
NZ SA
My NZ back 1.9 have now lay NZ 1.39 stake out and free roll the chase -
@Nathan-Bennett yes, im watching the NZ price closely.
edit in at 1.94 out at 1.50

NZ SA TEST
Shaping up nicely chasing will be challenging, however
Eyeing a NZ back around 1.9-2.0 if happens while SA still batting and a re back at 3.0 if happens
Think eventually wicket(s) and a market crash
...
Dam 1.78 before the 4th wicket fell

NZ Backed 1.91 -

@Fraser-cord i had same thoughts, in that if the four wickets were taken quickly, which they were, the price would start to climb significantly, but that didnt happen - the price stayed around 7 - even when NZ lost an early wicket it stayed around 7 .... so, i just lumped some more on !
looking at a tidy green now. Thinking of removing liability so i can use it for ENG game.Yeh I'm glad i stayed away. Thinking was sound but the price didn't match it. And definetely didn't see the Kiwi's folding like that.
You will have made a decent return on LTD. I was hoping for a quick back to lay, but not to be on this one. I'm always nervous LTD at higher odds, was stung a couple of times as the price comes tumbling with a long stand. I guess its the discipline that its 5 days and a 50 over stand is nothing in that providing the wickets tumble later on.

The draw price in Rajkot looks interesting as the crucial third Test gets underway nice and early tomorrow. It currently sits at around 9.0, but it could easily dip much lower than that during the first day's play.
There have only been two Test matches at this relatively new ground, but in both matches there's been an avalanche on first innings runs, so whoever wins the toss will 100 per cent bat first and their price will drop considerably. England are currently a very tempting 4.3, but if the toss goes their way I can see the odds coming down to 3 and below very quickly.
When England played here in 2016, the teams amassed more than a thousand first innings runs between them and the match did end in a draw, while India scored 649 in their last innings at Rajkot, albeit against a very poor West Indies outfit.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the draw price fall below 5 during this game, but with spin likely to be a major factor later, if it dips as low as 4 that will definitely be the time to lay.
