Looks as though the real threat of rain will come around 3pm, so should be quite a lot of play before any likely interruptions. England badly need to pick up the last five wickets before the Aussies build any kind of a lead, because Lyon will be a major threat on a dry, turning track.
-
@Matt-Ayles Looks like thunderstorms around tomorrow and Tuesday; will need to play it by ear because those sorts of conditions could miss the ground completely or hit it hard. It's all in the lap of the gods. The weather radar will be doing some heavy lifting!
-
Some forecasters suggest Tuesday could be washed out but it varies depending on your provider...

Australia tactics are the total opposite to Bazball? This carries on the series score will be 0-0
-
@David-Milligan I would imagine there'll be lots of good swings if there's a bit of rain about tomorrow.
-
I had great fun blindly scalping the draw market yesterday and managed to reduce a lot of liability without really having a clue what I was doing but I'll rein it in today - plan of attack is to follow @Richard-Futter into battle if draw reaches down round 3
-
@Richard-Futter Thanks
I'm starting to understand the markets and the moves, but its just knowing the right times to enter etc. Knowing the prices to look for are really helpful as well.
I'm sure if England were still in and batted a bit this morning, the price would be shorter too. Stokes is clearly going for the win based on the declaration which is good, but il definitely hold off at the moment.

@Fraser-cord Would hold fire on laying the draw at the moment; judging by the radar it looks like some rain is about to hit the Edgbaston area, although the worst of it should have gone by the time play starts and we should have a fairly clear day. Worth keeping an eye on. I'll be waiting for the price to get close to 3 before going in again - especially with rain a real threat tomorrow.
-
@Nathan-Bennett Cheers
The Aus Ind final day and Bang Afg start of 2nd day felt like taking candy from a baby.
However this seems a bit more unknown. Wouldnt want to go in with my new found cricket confidence of 2 tests and make a big rookie mistake.
-
@Fraser-cord didnt see the final session / ENG bowl
such a feel thing this
guesstimating that if aus can score well draw will trim considerably .., and if weather to follow it could possibly be optimal timing to lay draw day 3 sometime
hunch stuff -
AUS ENG
Thinking market swings galore to come
I'll be out tonight but will be laying ENG odds on for a swing
Ideally if openers are out and smith marnus at crease -
Hello all
What's peoples thoughts on tomorrow for LTD? I'm just learning with cricket. Followed the Aus vs Ind, managed to get on Bang vs Afg at the right time. Was slowly observing today and it almost seemed to go as expected. Mid afternoon just below 4.0.
Im guessing if the openers hang around for 30 mins + tomorrow, it will dip below 4.0 again. Is that the time to get in hoping for a few wickets, other than later in the Test if rain disrupts on Day 3?
Cheers

Should be interesting.
The bowlers must be chuckling and well up for this 20mins now
-
Declared. Wow. The shock on TMS was brilliant
What a statement
-
amount of times this happens to me place a lay market goes against as processing .., p**s off ha
well that's 5 soft dismissals
-
@Richard-Futter shame, didn't get matched before the Brook wicket! Hopefully get down there again if Stokes makes a bit of headway
-
Placed a 3.55 draw lay f&$k me not accepted in time
What BS that wicket was ha -
Had a lay of the draw at 3.4. Irresistible.

Anyone sense ball doing a little bit

Hi guys, I'm making my Ashes expedition over to the cricket thread!
Just out of curiosity, what makes the draw price move? It's gone from 5 down to 3.6, I understand potential for rain but England started pretty strong but the draw price continued to come in. Is it a lack of belief in our attack?
As I type this I see we've just lost another wicket
