    @rob-arkell I backed South Africa at 3.5 thinking there would be an early wicket so expect an opening partnership of 100+.

    @richard-futter This is only the second time that England have survived 10+ overs without losing a wicket in a test since before the world cup. Not sure if that has any significance

    @james-woodroffe said in 2019 Cricket Trading Thread - Updated Thread:

    @richard-futter draw laid at 4.70.

    Looks a good support point. Am being slightly greedy and looking for something below 4.

    Not much in the pitch for the bowlers judging by the early evidence. Guess things could liven up when the effects of the heavy roller wear off after about an hour's play.

    Draw price has come in from 8 to around 5.5, which seems very strange. Am definitely happy to lay the draw. Doesn't look like rain will play a major part and nine of the last ten Tests played here have produced positive results.

    England win the toss and bat - not a surprise, although locals seem to think there might be a bit in the pitch for the bowlers early doors. Nicely in the green following the toss, so will see how things shape up early on before deciding on any match opening trades.

    The weather's hot and the pitch looks good for batting in Port Elizabeth.Expect whoever wins the toss will bat first and their odds will tumble.

    Hey guys, newbie here. South Africa v England starts up again tomorrow.
    I usually do okay on cricket by just backing and laying during the test as the wickets fall. Are there any tips out there to maximise on the profits?

    Amazing stuff.... and they want to reduce Tests to 4 days and deny us these thrilling finishes. That would be madness!

    @richard-futter exactly and I’m protecting a small bank There’s still plenty more test cricket to get my teeth into this year and to improve as a trader. 🍻

    @james-woodroffe yep... draw crashing in like there's no tomorrow. That will change very quickly indeed if a wicket falls, but at this stage of the match that becomes nothing much more than a gamble.

    Just had a look at the tied match market; didn't really think anyone would bet on that at all, but turns out that over £4,000 has been wagered on a tie at 100/1.

    Considering there have been only two tied matches in over 2,300 Test matches played, those with massive banks can almost literally print money. 1% is a very good rate of interest over 5 days 🙂
