@martin-futter thoughts now on the ,macth most of day one was washed out and england were batting terrible slow hope there is no rain today
-
If England get away, they will canter. Ball is jumping off a length so don't see England losing if they can get 250 1st innings .

England batting first. Got to expect an early wicket or two in these conditions.
Not wrong there!
-
See Eng getting a respectable 275-300 first innings total. Here we go!
-
3's on seems a no brainer to lay

All a bit frustrating this; managed to bag a little green as the price drifted, but it looks as though the drizzle will come and go all day. 30-40 overs would be a maximum I reckon.

Some drizzle here in Hampshire. I’m 30 miles from Southampton and it’s very grey.
haha i'm 10 miles away from the Ageas Bowl. Between us we should be able to catch any fast moving rain clouds

Absolutely delighted to have some test cricket back and really looking forward to today’s play. Thinking 6.80 might be a touch steep but will reassess once it drops under 6.0 which hopefully won’t take to long. Slow and steady trading as I try and get my head back around everything after such a long delay.

The rain is going to do draw layers a power of good at Southampton - especially if it wipes out most of the first day at the Ageas Bowl.
I'll be astonished if this match ends in a draw and am very happy to drip lay from the current 5.4 downwards. The further it goes down the better I reckon.
Both batting units are notoriously brittle at the best of times and that can only be magnified by four months of inacitivity. Okay, the bowling might be a little wild and woolly to begin with, but once in their rhythm both these sides have fast bowling match winners.
Don't forget, the hours of daylight are almost limitless in the UK in July, so even if today's play is completely rained off - and there's a good chance it won't be - most of that will be made up with extra time on the remaining days.
already bounced out to 6.8! well done

Can’t wait! Should be cracking bowling conditions. Fingers crossed Eng bat first.
-
@martin-futter bang ! time to saddle up
-
@nathan-bennett not local but weather forecast looks pretty good regarding rain, take that as you will!
-
Any locals up and about ? How's forecast looking for play

-
@dan-erridge Coming down nicely into the 5’s.

@dan-erridge I’ve backed the Draw in the 6’s and watching the market and weather over the next 24-36hrs. My initial plan is to exit at around 4, but keeping a flexible strategy.
