Layed Pakistan after the toss at 1.49 - three wickets before lunch, and would have expected a bigger move. Market heavily weighted in favour of the home side, but a decent amount of green at the start of the match.

Quite fancy the lay of Pakistan at around 1.57 in the second Test against Sri Lanka, starting at 4.45 tomorrow morning UK time.
Pakistan are not the side they once were, and while Sri Lanka are also a shadow of the Sangakarra/Jawardene era, the home side's price looks very short to me. I'd have them at 2.0 at best.
This is the first Test to be played in Karachi in a decade, but the last match here - between the same two sides - featured two colossal first innings totals, so if the pitch is in any way similar the draw is by no means out of the question.
I would also say that neither attack has a real gun-bowler - with the possible exception of Shaheen Afridi - and I can see some big partnerships materialising in batting friendly conditions.
-
considering today started out as little rain , yeah draw could be a good thing and or laying PAK or SRI , had a couple lays pak and small backs . like lay @6 half red out @9 and so on.... squared off before return of play to much else going on #howgood
-
@martin-futter they went off for bad light which is something about cricket in Pakistan I’d forgotten about. Like some parts of India once that sun drops it’s done and dusted pretty quickly. Pakistan also in their infinite wisdom decided to not play their best bowler in Yashir Shah. So four pronged pace attack wouldn’t have helped either.
-
@james-woodroffe how did they manage to lose 22.5 overs with only 48min rain delay!
-
@shaun-halse nice I went again at 1.65. I don’t think either of these sides are any good so will patiently see what happens.
-
might hold till day 3 or late day 2 maybe clear which result cant win . could be little activity for me for now
-
The return of test cricket in Pakistan early tomorrow morning. Any one interested in this series? Rawalpindi is traditionally one of the more seam friendly pitches in Pakistan so it will be interesting to see if it’s retained that factor in the 10 years of no test cricket in Pakistan. Rain is forecast over days 2 and 3 and apparently there could be heavy cloud for a majority of the test. The draw is an appealing 2.40 to lay with Pakistan a strong favourite at 2.36 and SL an interesting 6.40 underdog. I’m going to be laying the draw I think.

market wants to ease #lift
-
@dave-jessop just need a nervous market ha .., here's what hoping now lay 1.19 red out at 1.38 and free roll the trade
-
@dave-jessop the draw now not going anywhere for a long time worth hanging on I think
-
so far this been ok .. took 1.39 draw out @ 1.19 .. scalp lay draw now until any weather impact . as runs scored by ENG market may hint at a result .., surely need to go 3 runs an over till the last 10 overs of the day .. helps being home all day ha else would shut up shop this test now
-
@dave-jessop cheers mate I think that’s my most likely route also.

Not sure what to do with this test match in Hamilton.
I could cash out and lose half my stake or I could hold fire for an unlikely result. Maybe the wickets will tumble today who knows. Any thoughts or advice? -
two other things on the NZ ENG test , any rain from here likely soft ground the old safety factor some into play , this isn't a championship series event game in the balance hard to see either captain pushing hard for a result if overs lost , especially NZ with playing Australia around the corner
-
high chance the draw in NZ is a good thing , need to wake up early try and see whats around and lay Eng perhaps
-
Draw price hovering around 2.0 now in Hamilton. Don’t wanna be disrespectful to my adopted home but come on England it’s a great day for one of your earth shattering collapses.
-
tmr's the potential weather day in Adelaide , nothing to be scared of for an overall outcome on this match , a big watch on of draw gets stupid low … Eng NZ laying draw again again and again
-
@dave-jessop cheers Dave.

Quick question gents re LTD in test cricket. With the Oz v Pak test as an example the draw was 6.20 (I think) just before day 1 started. Given the likelihood that Oz was probably always going to get into a position of dominance would you lay at those odds from the outset? Similar to India v Bangladesh I guess.
