@sajjo-lohar oh definitely mate. I think it’s when you feel comfortable. @Martin-Futter said the other day he was looking (correct me if I’m wrong) at under 3’s I think Richard was looking at around 4’s. I like to wait till it’s in the 2’s but I’m also quite new to test cricket. What I’ve found and does get mentioned a lot is that betters love the draw. Why who knows it’s not 1983 but they do back it continuously. One of the boys said the other day it takes a lot of rain in the U.K. to get a draw in a test over here. Or for that matter anywhere.

@james-woodroffe when do you recommend laying the draw? the current price of over 8 is too high to lay i think

@jpm
I was just looking at trading the draw market.
seeing the price on England, has made me think twice.
a sneaky little lay on England and see what happens I think.I get the impression that cricket betters might not be the sharpest tools in the shed which is great for us traders. It’s almost as if the general consensus is that as far as the West Indies are concerned it’s still the year 2000. Root and Broad make a difference but gee they do seem short again. If England bat first and make even a semi decent start they’ll probably shorten even more as will the draw price.

@ricky-hounsome nothing at all. Opportunity knocks...

So England lost the last test yet are odds on favourite to win this one.
what am I missing? -

@martin-futter thank, OK i will. the only thing I am asking now is every time you cash out a small profit (or loss), does it replace or overwrite the previous cashout profit/loss (because that is what happened to me) or is it supposed to just keep accumulating until the end of the test match??
we need screenshots to really see what you mean mate

No, it can't just keep accumulating as you are going back in and trading again, changing your position in the market, so it may go for you or against you in future. The cash out button will always just settle your position in the market at that current time and is always your most up to date and final position were you not to trade anymore this test.

@malcolm-washer thanks , yes I am expecting only small profits because I am only using very small stakes (no more then £5 each time) . the only thing I am asking now is every time you cash out a small profit (or loss), does it replace or overwrite the previous cashout profit/loss (because that is what happened to me) or is it supposed to just keep accumulating until the end of the test match??

@james-woodroffe thank you very much for the advice, and i wish you success with tomorrows test match also. the only thing I am asking now is every time you cash out a small profit (or loss), does it replace or overwrite the previous cashout profit/loss (because that is what happened to me) or is it supposed to just keep accumulating until the end of the test match??

@james-woodroffe i agree backing the draw is bad ur much better laying it then backing latter at ahigher price
-
@sajjo-lohar when ur starting out mate it isnt relly about the amount its about can u keep doing wining trade u made a profit so that is great
-
@richard-futter mate u played the test well u made some good choices and some nice profit i gather

@sajjo-lohar hey mate if England were favourites to win the test when you closed after Windies innings I think that would have perhaps eaten some of your profits. The best thing I could advice is to message @Martin-Futter for some private coaching to get your head around things and number 2 and I can’t emphasise this anymore as someone else who’s trying to get back into the swing of test match trading. Make sure you don’t forget the option to lay the draw. As was mentioned today and happens all the time. Cricket betters seem to have this odd obsession with backing draws so inevitably the price tumbles. As traders we can milk this because as a general rule They Dont End In Draws. When I started test trading in October last year India were in South Africa. India would bat for 2 days make 600 (in all 3 tests they batted first) and the draw odds would plummet to 2.0 when they declared. Betters assuming it was a flat pitch. A day and a half later India are winning by an Innings. It’s the best way to learn to trade test matches build your bank learn to understand the markets. I hope this helped but I’m sure the more experienced cricket traders can help you more.

Hi guys I am sorry for asking what is probably a real amateur question , but I am confused about how to trade cricket, as this test match was the first time I have ever done it.
In the 1st innings I laid England at 1.38 because I figured their batting was a bit weak and WI might get some early wickets . At 100/5 I cashed out 1.42 profit because I thought Stokes and Buttler would make a big partnership. ( I am using very small stakes between £2 - £5) .
Then when WI was batting I backed them because I figured we would get a 1st innings lead and the cashout was now £0.86 . The previous cashout of £1.42 had disappeared.
So what I am asking is every time you cash out a profit or loss does it keep getting overwritten?? Becuase I thought it would keep accumulating ?? To build a good amount by the end of the match. Please help me ! In the end I made £3.70 as WI won. -
Just had a little lay of the Windies at 1.22 at tea. Thinking there is still a twist.
-
I’ve had to have a little lay of the tie obviously at 1.02. Dunno why but call it a hunch that we could be talking about this test for other reasons in years to come. Yeah it’s totally unlikely I know but
