@nathan-bennett yeah mate, I’m going to have a look later at the actual numbers but it’s that time where the lights take over and perhaps coincides with the taking of the 2nd new ball? Again I’m going to have a proper look this afternoon in preparation. Good news seems that Smith will be fine and yesterday was just a precaution. Top order issues for us with the openers but not to much to worry about and if he passes his test excited to see Green debut. Not as excited as Pukovski but I’ll wait till Boxing Day for that.

Many thoughts out there for aus india test tmr .. hope aus win toss bat well draw shorten then bang lay . no draws in 14 pink ball tests . also from memory last couple there final session ea day is seems to be horrendous to bat in , convinced its hard to see
-
I dunno who I love more. Daniel Sams or Ben Laughlin. Lovely start to the new week.
-
Just a heads up for those who might not be aware. NZ Cricket are streaming live and in HD all the NZ matches on YouTube. The feed is really quick also and is good to know with the Pakistan tour starting on Friday morning with the T20’s as it’s not on the TV.
Just type in New Zealand Cricket and boom there it is. -
Well the rain didn’t come but what a strange weird match in Hambantota today. Also who wants to pencil Holder and De Silva to bat all day in Wellington for one of those Basin run feasts?..........
-
At 2.0 it could be worth a small sprinkle before the broadcast starts. For what it’s worth I’ve had heaps of days off in Hambantota over the years so hopefully will keep all posted over next hour.
Now at 3.0.

For anyone interested in the LPL semi finals we have rain in Hambantota. Not sure to what extent yet and if it makes NO completed match a option to consider today.
-
@james-woodroffe laying winning team with a massively stale market think only pain . easy post match to say of course . back to basics
-
@nathan-bennett I hold Darren Bravo personally responsible but having said that if the WI bowled NZ out for 180 the Kiwis would have still enforced the follow on. Total lack of heart from their batsman.

iv been trading cricket mainly t20 over on my blog as its impossible to post an inplay trade on t20 on the forum in terms of prices etc. Managed to really get going on it, hopefully now the tests are back we might see more activity on here. Cricket results are on my results sheet and im doing a run down of each days games and how i traded them for anyone who is looking for ways to trade them. Just thought id post as this thread isnt always active given the schedule of cricket right now and might be a decent read on the blog for anyone who is new here.

Sound advice NZ V WI .. see what happens first hour WI bat to reduce damage but half a dozen sitters in slips put down just a team that gets a lot wrong and appear to not care . Live and learn
-
Good start BBL hurricanes backing late on first inns and reducing risk .
NZ v WI again holders won toss and bowled massive winds early bowlers have muscled way into this it feels and no williamson for NZ
Trade . NZ 1.30 a massive lay for me think this could be very safe and hopefully dividends + by midway through session 1 of WI batting no matter NZ first inns score and look to reduce liability . F or me happy to be down by half my investment before re assess . Would be tempted lay again 1.20 . Also a small back on the draw @10 as insurance for big nz partnerships

Think it might be time to move on from the LPL. There’s more than enough cricket coming up and whilst it served its purpose today was far from cool.
-
intriguing stuff cheers @James-Woodroffe ... My t20 approach going to try keep as simple as possible .
Looking to enter around the 14th over first innings
If think the favs price can be beaten by close of innings I'll fire in a lay
At the break if I think my position is a winning one I'll hold onto my trade slowly remove risk in stages
If goes pear shape then likely exit with loss of half my stake max -
@chris-osborne I’m not a fan mate to be honest but we will wait and see I guess.
The BBL suffers from big names so I guess they looking to keep it fresh and relevant as it battles with the A League also for fans during that time. -
@james-woodroffe Kind of my thoughts as well especially towards the end of the League games where teams battling to get into play offs might just be happy to take a point even if they lose the game
Be interesting to see how it plays out, its not a move I'm in favour of unless you have two set batsmen to take advantage of the floating two power play overs, essentially devalues the Power play at the start of a game in my opinion. Although these innovations have to be tested in live situations and fair playto them for trying these ideas.

Also I didn’t make the spreadsheet it’s way beyond my capabilities but after finding it thought it would be something we could all benefit from and hopefully it’s green inducing.
There’s also a great article today on Cricinfo about the numbers behind successful IPL run chases which highlights where teams ideally need to be after 10 overs. It might help to assess other T20 matches and where teams are at after 10 overs.
