Well that’s one way to get an atrocious batsman out I guess.
-
Am I the only one who hasn’t gone in yet? Really cautious as this could be the draw bullet that shoots me down. I’ve got a few ideas about trading later on in the game - will share as/when.
-
@paul-keighley oath ! got to have a number amount your happy to lose . forgot to throw that in
-
Draw heading in the right direction now.
-
@james-woodroffe Yes. The logic is sound. Let’s hope we’ve all got it right
-
@andrew-wooding the thing we also have in our favour mate is that both sides have exceptional fast bowling and Pakistan have a world class leg spinner. Batting will be tough you’d imagine the whole way thru and we still have plenty of time to make up the lost overs.
-
@paul-keighley I think that’s a very pertinent point and I’ll take it on board. I am over exposed and it’s a lesson that’s for sure. Anxiety comes from
Knowing your over invested.
However on your other point, I think it’s natural to look for reassurance from those more experienced and confident than yourself. It’s not about asking others for accurate predictions (shifting responsibility), rather about trying to make your own decisions based on the best knowledge to hand.. even if that’s not yours. -
Without wanting to sound negative on this briliant thread/discussion, with more than one person mentioning concern of their position recently, and asking people to accurately predict the future, it's a good time to point out how mindset is just as important as technical knowledge here.
Put simply, if you are concerned at all for your current position in any match of any sport etc then it is extremely likely that you are overstaking, as simple as that.
-
@nathan-bennett it’s a confidence thing I think mate. Second guessing yourself even though rationally your listening to the right people (yourself, Richard etc) and logically it makes sense.
-
@james-woodroffe it’s the bloody weather that’s bothering me more than anything!! With experience comes confidence in your position I guess
-
Jos so close
-
@andrew-wooding i look at this way i bet/trade nba t20's .., with tests being longer format and when trades in the red easy to breathe and not panic markets not as wild and can think adjust accordingly to whats going on (just a thought)... but i hear you and its common

@matt-wood yea. Not been around long enough for the rollercoaster not to produce some panic and fear!
It’s a real patience game mate a bit like test cricket itself. Keeping an eye on the weather and with Broad and Anderson bowling in these conditions and Babar out things can change quickly. 2nd new ball due in 15 overs also.

@nathan-bennett just wondering if those with experience of this type of situation could advise of how likely it is the price will get there. My exposure is quite high and I guess I’m letting a bit of fear creep in...
I am in the same boat here, at the limit of my banks exposure and just hoping the odds start going the other way now
This is the first test match trading i''ve built up a strong position. Not undully concerned right now as long as the weather behaves.
-
No rain forecast for a while yet today and with no Shadab it’s still a long tail. Another quick wicket and look out.

That’s the one we wanted 1.76 to 2.08 with Babar gone.
-
@nathan-bennett big one...
