Hi guys,
I am looking at getting a new laptop to use solely for my trading. I will only be using it for running betangel, to keep basic sheets so I can track my progress and using it to filter out the football data from the stats on BTC.
I would imagine that the more RAM (whatever this is) the better?
Or as it's going to be a new one would it work pretty quick regardless as I am not going to have alot of stuff on it.Cheers

@craig-brown Refurbished generally means one of two things in terms of technology products. Either its just had its boxed opened and returned because its the wrong model/make/shade of fuchsia but in reality its not been used OR its been used, wiped and the software re-installed. If its the second then i personally wouldnt touch it. The trouble is that you are unlikely to be able to establish the difference so ive always avoided them

@dave-jessop haha cheers mate. Think getting a warranty is a good thing too if it's refurbished.

@dave-jessop cheers mate was just looking at that but was unsure about it, I was thinking that the older they get then the slower they get? Suppose if they are refurbished then they are as good as new?

Cheers guys appreciate it. Will get looking today.

Yes the more RAM the better, but if you’re only using it for trading 16GB would be fine. To be fair large RAM devices aren’t much more expensive nowadays anyway.
SSD are more reliable too, they don’t have the old style ‘moving parts’ of a traditional hard drive. This means that they hardly ever crash or freeze anymore. Quite future-proof
