Quick software automation question
-
I’m looking to get some software as all my trades can be automated. Be nice to free up some time.
When ive places my automations does my laptop need to be on or can I close it and put it away. Might be a silly question but I have no idea how it works -
@simon ok mate cheers I’ll keep plugging away and see what I can work out. Really interesting software though can definitely see some potential in it
-
@ben-jolley good stuff Ben, glad I could help I’ve only ever setup LTD from start as set and forget, I’ve never tried automating it at HT as I like to check the Inplay stats before getting involved so i won’t be of much help you you here mate. Maybe @Charles-Cartwright has done it before?
-
@simon hello mate I’ve now got my ltd at the start working fine. But this lay the draw at half time is really troubling me. I can’t seem to work it out. I had a email back from them today but it is still very vague.
-
@simon nice one thanks. I’ll try that when I get home see how I get on
-
@ben-jolley let me know if that works/makes sense. Just test it on the next game to KO with baby’s stakes. If not I’ll take a look when I get home
-
@ben-jolley hi Ben, for the lay the draw I just duplicated the example lay the draw, and then removed the after bet rules so there was no hedging.
I don’t have the screen in front of me now, but in the market conditions tab, if you open the one of them it gives you an option to place a bet “only on market containing names” and then a blank box. If you type the name of the teams in here separated by a comma, so for example; Liverpool, Barcelona, Ajax
It will place a bet on these games.
I haven’t setup any bots to LTD or LCS at HT so I’m not sure about the other 2 tbh. Most my bots are on the racing. -
@simon hello mate could you help me with this?
-
@charles-cartwright hello mate can you help me with this?
-
Thanks for the reply guys. I have downloaded the trial and will spend the next few days learning it. I currently cant ask questions in the forum I wonder if you could answer them. I want to set up a couple of bots.
-
Just straight lay the draw at kick off, no trading out
-
Lay the draw in H2 if 0-0 or 1-1 when odds reach 2.5, no trading out
-
Lay Correct Score in H2 if 0-1 1-0 0-0 1-1 when odds reach 4.0
I want to manually select the selections to each strategy
Any help would be great and save me alot of time. Might take me a while to learn this software
Thanks

@ben-jolley
It does have a ladder interface though I don't use it and a manual option if you want to simply trade live without using a bot.
I have it running on a VPS so I never have to turn it off or worry about missing a trade. Its not that expensive and you don't ever have to tie up your computer or be concerned about losing internet connectivity.
-
@ben-jolley I don’t think it has a ladder interface, pretty sure it’s purely for automation. I may be wrong but that’s all I use it for.
I have trialed bet angel and I prefer BF Bot manager for automation purposes personally, but that’s just personal preference. They are both as capable as each other.
It’s not the simplest, but they have example bots setup that you can tinker with and edit so you’re not starting from scratch. There’s also a forum where you can ask any questions.
You can get a free trial, definitely do that before paying for anything in case it’s not for you. -
@simon ok cheers. So do you recommend bf bot manager? Is it fairly simple? Does it have a ladder interface as well?
-
@ben-jolley I use BF Bot manager and just have my laptop sat at home and on all day. You can change your settings so that your computer doesn’t “go to sleep” so the screen stays on all day.
-
@daniel-r ok thanks. Is it expensive for the software to be running on a server? How does that work? I suppose just leaving the laptop running won’t be a problem. Mine turns itself off automatically if not in use. Is there a setting to turn that off?
-
what is that and does it cost me money?
-
unless you have software running on a server you will need your pc on for the bot to make the orders in the market at the times they are set for
