@james-woodroffe that's good, I bailed on Zverev at 6-5 in the 2nd set didn't get involved in Sab after 1st set at least I didn't lose anything still a 1pt return on the day all from Sakkari

4 points green courtesy of Zverev and how about Sabalenka!! 1 point there makes it 7 for the day. That was it missed the Shwartzman match it wasn’t on my filter this morning I’m sure, but I know there’s been software issues so that’s cool. Spent the rest of the day scalping in training mode so lay set winner the only real trades on tennis today but a great day none the less.

@james-woodroffe been staying clear of ATP this week but Zverev's serve can be unreliable be daft not to get involved at 1.06

Keeping half an eye on Sabalenka but she should win easily but prone to slow starts

Or she could not be interested and lose the first 7 games

@chris-osborne the Evans match was one that left me feeling a bit numb. Evans definitely was the recipient of a massive momentum swing after Khachanov had his meltdown twice late in that second set. I had to do some Dad stuff and didn’t realise that Khachanov was serving first in the 3rd. Usually I don’t exit in that situation until after their service game but I had “grumpy voice” in full swing and didn’t realise. 🙄cost me a bit of extra green but still a good day. Zverev and Sabalenka both on the filter and both playing now so hoping it continues this evening.

The lay the first set winner is now 3 from 3 today! With more to come.

Nice one James didn’t work for me on Azarenka v Mertens but decent win for Sakkari more than made up for that

@matt-wood hey mate, to be honest I was using the Betfair interface because I’d been having issues with my Mac but they’ve been sorted so today I’ll be using BetTrader to do it. I’m going to start in training mode just to get used to it and because of the time of matches today real life might get in the way so the idea is just to nut it out and get confident using it before next week as there is an ATP 500 event next week in Vienna. It’s a great sport to trade and in particular to scalp especially the WTA but sadly we are running out of events. There’s some great info on this site and the book like a lot of books that are trading related there’s some great stuff to learn but also some pages which you can just flick past.

    @james-woodroffe Great stuff 🙂

Do you use software to trade this scalping with the set entry/exit points?

I am rereading through Ryans PDF and might pick up that book too. Content to learn for now though as trying to focus on footy. Would love to add a tennis string to my bow though in the future. Helps that its a great sport to watch too 🙂

@chris-osborne hey Chris it’s called Mastering Tennis Trading by a guy called Daniel Westhead I picked it up off Amazon for £20 and its on my phone. It’s a good read it helped me a bit. The Gauff match was excellent to trade and similar to a match on Monday where the loser traded at 1.05.

@james-woodroffe Good to hear James I had a good day yesterday but only had chance to trade the Mertens game after she won the 1st set which didn't go so well. Had my eye on the Gauff game but work got in the way

What's the tennis trading book you picked up if you don't mind me asking.

Plenty of ATP tournaments coming up only a couple of WTA - should be on there Asian swing now.

I've dabbled with setting up my own filter, I'm using the stats more to assess what I want to do currently

Really good day today and happy that I’m finding my way in scalping the markets.
I now have set entry and exit points for both backing and laying the server. The key for me is always discipline and after a lot of reading here on BTC and thru a tennis trading book I grabbed today was all about not deviating from the entry and exit points and if I did the right things opportunities would present themselves. Also last night finally set up a filter rather than go off knowledge and lo and behold it was the same as @Martin-Futter and his lay the first set winner So I didn’t really need to make one.
Worked a treat as Sabalenka left it late and Nikiosha was able to also take it to a 3rd. My biggest regret today was Gauff getting to 1.05 in the 3rd with a double break. Maybe then I should have deviated a little from the entry 😂but it didn’t reach the entry point and the opportunity didn’t come again next thing she’s 2.04 and then Sabalenka wins. Oh well. The Mertens match worked well as I was simply backing Mertens to hold as Muchova only breaks 22% of the time so when ever Mertens went 0-30 down or 15-40 the faith and numbers were in her favour and whilst Muchova did serve well she offered plenty of chances to lay her.
I hope the rest of you are having good days on the tennis and there’s still a fair whack before the seasons end. Let’s go green. 🍻

@sam-maccuaig I still will sometimes blend this in to my main trading as a lot of my tennis stuff works on the first set mainly (although since the lockdown - I've reworked the model, this is causing some teething issues!).

It always worked well for me and a lot of others as well over the years 🙂

@ryan-carruthers this PDF is absolute gold mate. How much do you trade like this? Seems bang up my alley and v much like the idea of being able to hop on a match as and when rather than plod through football selections and worrying about variance from missing footy games

I might have to check this out, anything that is 'bang up my alley' is always a good fit 😉

I like the look of it as well will have a good read and see what I can work out for the next Tournaments whenever they may be
