@martin-walker if it is on the plan then i execute it, i have full confidence that each game merits being on it, can only have that tho with experience and a tested strategy. One thing i would say is, the SHGs are an active trade the FHGs are a set and forget. So placing the trade pre match and waiting for it to be matched so i can focus on just the SHGs

Hi darri, you have 7 trades listed today so if all qualified under your normal parameters would you trade all of them today or stop if you were up a decent amount?

I know you arent trading the fhg yet, just a hypothetical question

@daniel-cooper is also add to that to check the assist makers as well, then you know you’ve got the striker on who scores and the guy who makes the striker look good 😉

@daniel-cooper i look at how many goals a team has scored and then see who has contributed most to that total. So yes i do the same. Its way more important for certain teams than others as some teams have a well spread out mix, but the top teams in each league typically have 2-3 key players that make them tick and have the biggest impact to your data. Any select group of players contributing +40% to the goal are vital to your match selection. These players dont need to start the match but at least be on when im looking to enter.

    Watchlist:

    SHGs:
orebro vs norrkoping : nyman(totte), haksabanovic, lauritsen
malmo vs elfsborg : thelin, berget, rieks / karlsson
    hammarby vs kalmar : ludwigson
    rosenborg vs stabaek : borven
viking vs molde : berisha / james, hussain, omoijuanfo

    FHGs:
    malmo
    rosenborg

Hi Darri. I usually use Flashscore to find my top scorers and assisters for a team and then compare that to who’s on the pitch on sofascore. How do you personally determine your key players?

@matt-wood you know the best way to avoid all these thoughts is to just stick to one strategy. Master one thing at a time. One strategy nailed down is honestly the best policy. It cuts out you getting onto other things. A strategy that has been paper traded for 2-3 months with about +100 games on it is the easiest way to learn. How many traders on here do you see testing far too many things without having one rock solid one. Look at richard, he tests absolutely heaps of strats, he seems to have now found one good one but has been at this for years. He has been open to the group many times that that has cut his potential so much. He still only trades with a small bank doing minimum stakes. Look at keith and me we typically do one main strategy and its built our banks to become full time! It sounds like it takes ages to build but really think of it this way:

you have one strategy that makes 5% a month (quite low). With a starting bank of just £100. If after every month your recalculated your staking to match the new bank (compounding).

    starting bank= £100
    year one = £179
    year two = £322
    year three = £579
    year four = £1000

Now what happens if you are still working and instead of just throwing money into betfair to cover losses on so any strats and silly mistakes. You used the same process of mastering one strat with adding £50 every month (one night out less each month) from your wages into it as an investment.

    Starting £100
    Year one = £975
    Year two = $2500

This is just with one strategy and at a small point profit per month and a small investment. The better your strats perform the quicker this goes. One rock solid strategy that you take 2-5 months paper trading. Taking the time to learn to build rather than rushing your money. Its what iv done. Do one strategy get it good then repeat for another strategy and add them this way. Imagine how much in 4-5 years this will be. Its easy to talk about and do but you gotta make these changes now to stop repeating the same habits that means the vast majority end up failing because of.

One thing i will say to people who maybe have struggled this month. You see me posting about certain topics trying to do specific areas of trading at a time. But someties that might seem like they should be treated individually. THEY ALL COMBINE! So the trading plans, the pre-inplay-price model and the mental side all make for improving your trading. I have to split them into indvidual posts because i cant explain how to trade in just one post. Dont be defeated. It does take time.

Another thing i would say is im pretty stubborn and i see it alot with guys on here too. We get told how to do things yet still do the old ah yeah ill do that next time approach. Yet the cycle keeps happening. Make a change to that today. Stop wasting profits on wild weekends on heaps of matches. The early stage is the best stage because you have less pressure to learn. Putting £2 stakes on and building them naturally is the most satisfying thing. I keep saying if you cant do it with £100 then imagine with £10k of your family money. get it right now and imagine how good youll feel when your consistently withdrawing money.

It all just keeps boiling down to RUSHING. Trading with only £2 seems like it makes no difference. But if you cant see how it all fits into the long game then take a step back and watch how the more experienced traders go about their business. In the early days i wouldnt even set monetary targets for a strategy i would just learn how markets work. See how a strat does after 100 even if that takes 2-3 months.

Im not just writing this to rub it in to those that have had a bad august or have had a bad weekend. I remember only too well the times i had the same experience. If your like me and cant be taught something and only stick to it then your in for a long ride. I wish i just listened to how a pro traded. Quality over quantity. You all like the way im doing the FHGs so why not do the same for your own instead of repeating the same mistakes?

Great stuff Darri. I am guilty of rushing for certain. But only on a Sat which is odd, the rest of the week I dont do it at all. I have a couple of ideas to sort this out. First will be pre filling my trading master sheet out with 4 lines prior to a Sat, once those are full...no more trading that day.

I think I am also guilty of short attention spans, or rather too many ideas too quickly. Even though I only paper trade these I am doing too many and it is filling my head with too much info.

Its really not that hard but also trying not to sound like its a dead cert approach.

Added both posts regarding the SHG filter to the POSTS tab at the top of this blog. This will make it easier so you dont need to keep scrolling to see it. I will probably do a separate tab in future for just filters but right now easy to keep all in one place for me.

Filter watchlist as wont be trading myself:

SHG filter: varberg vs sirius: key players selmani, vecchia, sugita and saied (3/4 must be on pitch)

FHG: Hiroshima vs vegalta (japan j league 1)

Remember the SHG is tradeable for you guys but i still advise that we are still very much in full test mode for the FHG regardless of stats for this game.
