Good day today. Had been patient as I seen others having different selections earlier. I didn't budge, waited my time. I had a 1 losing trade in the 2nd half goals filter in the Daejeon game earlier. Tonight I had a LCS in the Hafnarfjordur game and a LCS in the Inter game. Neither on my filters but felt the stats were good for a goal. Total green in 2/3 trades with a 1 point profit.
iceland game i was there also that was lucky one red card hometeam behind not the best deal, but i was happy to got the goals i was over 2.5 there and lcd for scratch..... but when i was not i the overs then i leave that game because my in play scanner was not hot at all
but another lucky one in egypte caro game die seconds the thirth goal not always happen -

Have a FHG filter set up and have had 14 selections today. I was out at my wifes uncles for dinner so couldnt trade. 10 of them had goals before my entry point and the others would have been green.
I have had one trade so far today and that was a 2HG selection which was a red.
A couple of possibles later on, but I am disciplined so far in waiting for my entry.good news that!

Just to reiterate that this community is fantastic. I feel as if Iām not in this alone.
I have now removed two cards from my betfair account so that I now only have one linked which will be used solely for trading and with limited funds available in it.
I have my max daily loss in place and filters to follow.
Thankyou to everyone who has taken the time to help in any way possible. None of you know me personally but have taken the time to comment and help me on my journey which I am determined to reach my destination. There are a few selections in the filter today so hopefully things will come good for me.

Hi Eamon, Good luck with everything if you can follow @Darri advice which I'm sure you will then hopefully you'll be fine and look back on this in a year's time as a bump in the road and a necessary step you needed to get through.
I have a couple of suggestions for you: -
Someone posted in the Cricket thread earlier this week about only keeping a small amount of funds in there Betfair account and keep the rest in a seperate account. Which is an excellent idea not only from a personal limint but also security point of view.
Withdraw all your money from Betfair and Paper trade for a while a couple of strategies until you find a couple that are reliable but treat as though you are raising actual trades.
I'm ok with the mental side of trading so if you ever need anyone to talk to then I'm available most evenings, although I have never been in your position
Once again good luck
Thankyou very much mate. Much appreciated -

@eamonn-hogan I completely agree on the points of picking just one or two strategies, sticking to them, analyse different factors within the strategies and fine tune them as best you can. One good filter or strategy itself can make trading profitable. Make a trading plan each day.....write down the games you plan on trading and only trade those, and even then you dont HAVE to trade those games, its only if the opportunity arises that they should be traded. Decide beforehand what your maximum risk will be and accept that the amount determined has the potential to be lost completely. Before placing a trade ask yourself 'is this what a top trader would do'? It may sound cheesy or whatever but it may help. Dont think in terms of Ā£'s lost or gained, think in terms of points and always think in terms of points. So if your bank is say Ā£200 then Ā£2 is a point and get to the point of thinking 'im risking 2 pts on this trade, im staking 1.5 pts on this trade or whatever'. At the end of the month a pt may change to Ā£2.20 but youd still be thinking of points and not pounds
Great advice mate thankyou

Morning Eamonn you Liverpool sc.....
Glad to see you are giving it another go Follow Darri's advice and keep it small and simple for now.
I will pop in now and then to shout at the gambler in you to stay away
Small steps will win this race. Any gamble bet is an attempt at a big giant jumping step so avoid them.
Good luck mate.Cheers mate. Just need Kenny Rodgers to leave me alone.

I had one trade today. It was a successful one. Hoping that by having a plan gives me some time back instead of looking for trades. Thankyou mate
-
@eamonn-hogan i often find when i speak to people who are maybe coming off a rough couple of trades that its not the strategies thats the issue its the mindset and discipline. You have good ideas for strategies you just need to be strict with them. A couple of filters to get your focusing on certain games will help this massively as you wont be hunting for games to trade. From speaking to you mate you 100% have the right attitude and if we can reduce that gambler instinct that we both have had then we can make some good profit. Following along with interest mate keep it up.

I am prepared to give this another shot. I have set the max loss on my account again and am determined to not remove it. Darri has helped me set up a filter for my under 2.5 goals, something I didnt have before, I was just trading any game possible. This will be used when the big leagues return. He has also advised me to follow his 2nd half goal filter.
I think with now having a few filters to follow I will have a plan rather than just logging on and looking for something to trade.I have deleted all the previous information of my spreadsheet and starting with a clean slate.
Wish me luck!
good luck mate there is no rush in this game just take your time and stay within your comfort zone
cheers mate

@Eamonn-Hogan Such a shame to read this mate as you were doing so well. I cannot claim any knowledge on trading as I am a newbie, other than take advantage of the community fully. Such offers as @Darri has made and the private coaching would really help you I am sure.
Seems like you have an addictive personality. Trust me when I say you CAN change this. It is hard, no doubt about it, but it can be done. I have worked with many clients in the world of fitness and nutrition with the same personality about food, they just couldn't help themselves. But I helped and, with a lot of hard work from them, saw many of them change habits of a lifetime, so it CAN be done. Back to basics was something I used to advise. Keeping it simple and small steps. I am sure the same can apply to trading.
Don't give up if this is something you want to beat. Always get up one more time than you fall down and you will win Chin up.
Cheers mate, I did reach out to Darri on his offer of help. @Darri has been fantastic and has give me a few pointers on where to start. I do want to beat this. Its not the trading or the system that is beating me, its the gambler in me.
