@chris-osborne There's so many out there you can get a free trial with them all to see which one you like. I've been a Fairbot guy for years, I'll never change I don't think Mainly due to the fact it can run on Mac without windows and I love its interface.
I do have Traderline on mobile as well though - just incase I am out and about or the wifi goes mental!
It's personal preference though

I like Fairbot - It's simple and does what you need.
You could look at Traderline app as well thats pretty simple to use as well.
On mindset, we've got some videos on this on the dashboard that will be a good place to look at as well at this thread.....

Then it will highlight what stage your at and what you can work on then let us know and we can show you the best resources
@Eamonn-Hogan , @Ryan-Carruthers I've been thinking about trying out trading software, not done anything about it yet and will be a couple of weeks before I do so, maybe an idea for the next challenge or a few of us in a similar position can work together to make it work for us.
With regards to Bet Angel from comments in the football thread, I know @alansteward uses it but I have had a look at this, there are loads of free teaining videos on a variety of subjects in there. Some of them are the owner showing off but there are some interesting videos in there.

@eamonn-hogan Thank you for being honest with the group, I know its bloody painful but you are in the right place to be honest - we all will help.
I love reading your blogs and seeing your progress.
Let's take the 2 things you stated you need to work on:
Mindset
Bet AngelHave you thought about how you will work on these?
I have been thinking about how to work on them. Not sure what is best though.
As regards betangel I find it very complex. Is there another one that will just do the very basic stuff like stop loss and taking out a profit.
With the mindset stuff, if you use a pc, laptop or some such device, try making and printing yourself out a list of 4 or 5 questions/statements to do with your weaknesses on trading and individual trade. Make the letters an obnoxious colour and big! stick it next to the screen and read it when you have doubts about a trade.
Even if you dont read because it is so eye catching the subconscious takes it in.
Good idea mate

@eamonn-hogan that's sad to hear!
i know we did try to warn you about those gambles but i know it can be hard to change mentality.
yesterday was a day for patience on all fronts, even my daily email had zero trades for the first time since lock-down ended.
best advice i can give you is on days like yesterday just remember there are other days ahead, you don't need to trade every day or every event you see.
again such a shame to read this but hopefully it will be lesson learnt and thank you for your honesty, it is refreshing!
Thanks Martin. I said I would keep the blog honest, no point kidding myself.
Hopefully I can get the head right. -

Saturday 18th July.
I hit the brick wall today. I have been doing well since I started and had the odd "gamble " during the month which I either got out of with a scratch or a small red. Today though I lost all my green that I had accumulated over the past 5 weeks.
I set this blog up so that I would try and control myself from doing the stupid trade (bet) but I realise though that I have not posted for a few days.
I had been doing the unders and they have been working really well recently, also the LTD/LCS had been successful the last couple of weeks.
The last few days I have felt myself looking for trades rather than waiting for trades. A case of overtrading too.Today though I was up 2 points and because I have been down the last few days I found myself chasing and wanting more when I should have shut up shop and quit. I decided to stick firstly £50 on Man City to beat Arsenal and green up after they scored. During the game I staked a further £50 as Man City were sure to score (or so I thought). Arsenal go 1-0 up and I say lets lay them. There is no way they will beat City. I found myself in the position of Arsenal -200 Draw +186 and City + 50. It was only a matter of time before City scored ( so I thought). I could see my cash out going deeper and deeper into the red but I didnt want to cash out because a city goal was coming (I thought). Arsenal then score again and I couldnt take anything out of the trade. A loss of £200.
All my hard work gone. I posted on the forum what I had done and got some wise words from a few of the guys, one of the guys even private messaged me to offer support. This group is a great place to be in and I am happy to be a part of it. I need to work on my mindset. I have now set up a daily limit on betfair so that this cant happen again.I currently have a lay bet on Tony Finau in the golf and that should get me a bit of green back.
I will concentrate solely now on my unders and LTD/LCS and the golf. Too much trading and then overstaking has cost me but Im still learning. I said at the start if after 3 months I am green at all I will be happy. Hopefully I can learn from this, I know I still need work on my mindset but hopefully that will come. I need to realise I am a trader now not a gambler. I have betangel but I find it very complex. I need to find something simpler to use and set up stop losses to take emotion out of my trading.
I cannot trade tomorrow as I have now passed my limit for losses. I will just watch the golf.Onwards and upwards.

@eamonn-hogan ok but i hope y are doing well
but i trade the unders let say goals is scored back under 3.5 FH
back under 1 point odds let say 2.4, then every 20 ticks i lay it back 0.25 points untill i have freebet and cash out
every second goal cash out for loss -

@eamonn-hogan how y trade the unders entry point kick off of the second half.......?????
I enter after a goal is scored and exit for around 8-10% of my stake.

@eamonn-hogan i strongly advise trading what you feel comfortable with, if you feel comfortable with the time decay stuff then focus on that
Yeah gonna try and keep to the unders and correct score markets.
I also like the Elo ratings so will use it too.

Thursday 16th July.
3 red days in a row.
The last 3 days losing trades have all been when I am hoping and looking for goals. Im not saying I wont be doing those trades again but I honestly think I prefer to trade the time decay either with my unders which are now 67 from the last 69 since I changed tactic on them bringing in just short of 12 points since the start of the month.
I also like the correct goal score market where I back 3/4 scorelines and trade out for a green. The thing is after 3 red days I am not getting beat up about it. Still up 20 points so far for the month.
Tomorrow is another day.

Sunday 12th July.
Green day.
On the lay the bad tipster there were 3 trades I was involved in. 2 winning trades and a losing one with a small loss.
One trade on John Folans TROB with a winner.
I made a couple of trades in the Test Match in the Cricket for a 0.5 green.
3/3 winning trades in my unders for 0.5 green.
Also the lay bet I had on the golf I greened up for 10 points.
Total green for the day just over 11 points. This is now exactly a month since I started to take my trading seriously, recording results etc.
It has went extremely well and I just hope that I can maintain discipline. Total profit for the month, 47.2 points. -
@eamonn-hogan gotta wacth that over staking man u need to set up a good staking bank rool mangment plan

Saturday 11th July
After a great day yesterday with laying the bad tipsters for £2/£3 each regardless of price I went 5/5 with 2 points green. Today however I laid the first one for £5 and it was beat so I laid the second one for the same amount, it won though and set me back, this favourite was 8.8. There were 6 horses to lay as advised and 5/6 lost but I was down because of that winner. Moving forward I am going to continue to follow these but using my staking plan as shown in my spreadsheet.
I was also following @john folans TROB, it wasnt as successful as yesterday but again I was staking too much today so I will adjust my stakes with that one also.
My unders strategy produced 4 trades and 4 winning trades producing just over 0.5 point.
Decided to then switch to the golf which I enjoy and am having good success lately. I felt Morikawa was far too short at 2.18 with 36 holes to play even though he was 3 shots clear but Justin Thomas was chasing him down so I had a good big lay on him. As I write this he has done exactly as I thought and now trails JT by 2 shots with 6 holes left in third round. Can green up now for 14 points green. Going to hold fire until end of this round and possibly cash out and make it another green day.
