What I meaning by being found out was I wouldn't say at beginning of season you would be expected to be around 5/6/7 but now after a few results regression around tenth is where people might have put you.

@dan-erridge I thought 16 without scoring was bad!

I honestly think if the season didn't stop we would have had some sort of momentum to finish on the top 4. With Chelsea and spurs being indifferent. United was just about coming into form before the stoppage. Since lockdown the big teams have been able to reset and teams like sheff utd etc have been found out and regressed back to what you thought they would be at beginning of the season

People have been telling us we'd get found out for the last three years, don't think our first dip in performances of the season means we've been found out. We got told we'd been found out after we faded away in our first season in the Championship, we followed that up with automatic promotion on one of the smallest budgets in the league the following season.

Really wouldnt be surprised if we got it back together and had a strong finish to the season now we're almost back at full strength.

@richard-latimer ah right a new filter? what i mean by inplay stats is seeing if a team are looking like coming back. So valencia only had 1 shot on target whole game and betis havent had a single shot on target which means they didnt when you entered either. Whats stats are you basing it off of? Just trying to see if i can help, happy to talk off this thread about it if you want bud

@richard-latimer i knew youd say that, but have you tried to do more pre match and inplay stats reading? Really cant stress how much that would help you man.

Must be slightly different martin didnt have valencia or betis in his comebacks?

Those real short price lays are not part of the ELO ratings. Just an experimental idea which has done ok. They are only ever 0-2 lays as well. But like I said, Valencia didn't make the cut anyway. It was a misread from me.

Yeah like I said, I had a look at the inplay stats both before and during.

@richard-latimer try not to overthink it mate. Out of interest whats the difference between yours and the daily emailed ones? I honestly think you would make this strategy a heck of a lot easier for yourself if you did a tiny bit of pre match research and inplay stats reading. I posted earlier about avoiding the valencia game because of new manager, would have corrupted your stats on the game. betis have nothing to play for? villareal pushing for europe so they have the bigger motivation. Those are just examples. Also when you entered the lay of villareal, betis hadnt had a shot on target. I get you will say cheap lays, but they all add up over time mate.

You could make this easier and also make you trade less quantity more quality if you just did the 15 min research before hand and then factored in the inplay too. I dont think just using the stats filer alone makes a good trade, iv annoyed everyone by saying that in the past. Just think it would cut out your frustration.

Main problem today was something that had been doing well recently and a quick read of the inplay stats both before I got into the trade and after suggested the home teams were on top. Alaves main culprit. Hit the woodwork, missed a big chance. Just one of those days and we're not talking massive liability either.

Just a pain when the 3 or 4 trades you do take each go tits up in their own way despite due diligence.

good win for west ham. Nobody wants to finish top 4 by the looks of it

if only we'd have not started the restart playing like a pub team, I really think we'd have given the so called top 6 something to think about. Then again all sufc fans would have snapped your hand off for 10th place at this stage.

After our shocker of a first half at Goodison not helped by the VAR clowns, the unexpected result at West Ham was very welcome.

Not that it will matter if we carry on as we are playing but we play Man Utd last game of the season maybe for a Champions League place although thats a big IF right now

A lot is going to depend on Man City's appeal against Champions League exclusion in a couple of weeks

Certainly seems like the break has been more beneficial for some teams than others. Man U and Arsenal in particular.

Certainly for Sheff Utd and Leicester although truth be told we've been poor since Liverpool destroyed us on Boxing Day

Wolves been impressive since restart also

Yeah a couple of injuries haven't helped us tbh, no surprise we dont have the deepest squad at this level. Looked like we'd turned a corner against Arsenal on Sunday though so who knows.

Would be good to see the top 6 broken up a little bit. Fingers crossed for Leicester and Wolves for the CL.

No difference at all. Just Martin has more faith in away teams than I do haha!!

Valencia was a very short priced lay and to be honest a mistake on my part but I'm not worried. I looked and Betis not mathematically safe. Again though a very short lay. Wasn't expecting a red card straight away though.
