Listening to music yesterday
came on which sums things up nicely. Any other tracks that suit? Post with a link so I can play it. -
@matthew-biggins Plus their drive time feature and memory lane ones are unreal!!!
-
@richard-latimer not sure where I’d be without Spotify. Especially through lockdown.
Love going down a rabbit hole of music on Spotify.

are there any new decent rock or indie bands from the past decade or so? i have lost touch with music and this is defo my fav genre
Here’s a few to listen to who are up and coming/released their debut in album in the last 2 or 3 years.
Fontaines DC
The Snuts
Idles
Declan McKenna
DMA’S
Inhaler
The Lathums
The S.L.P. (Serge from Kasabian’s solo stuff)
Sam Fender
Sports Team
Tom GrennanFontaine’s DC’s album, ‘Dogrel’ is by far the most refreshing thing I’ve heard for a very long time.
Since I posted this, Fontaines DC have released their follow up to Dogrel called A Hero’s Death. For me they really are the best band around atm.
Idles have also recently released their new album. Predictably raucous, and cynical lyrics spat with passion. Another superb band.
And finally, a new John Lennon compilation out today on what would and should have been his 80th birthday. Over 2 hours of great songs to get stuck into on Spotify. Such a shame that there’s a feeling of what if around Lennon, McCartney and The Beatles. Would they have got it back together? Who knows, incredibly sad that John and Paul has seemingly put their differences aside shortly before John’s tragic death.
EDIT: Almost forgot to mention Doves. Their new album is up there with The Last Broadcast for me. Easily some of the best stuff they’ve done.
I'm so out of touch with new music these days. Hardly ever listen to the radio anymore either. Just my movie playlist on spotify haha!
Never know re the Beatles. Would we have had 'The Frog Song' haha??!

@richard-latimer 100%!!! The voice as well! I mean she's no Liz Hurley mind!
Yeah, very kind of husky voice. Wish she'd stayed in this genre. Not a fan of her pop at all.
