THE DREADED CALL
-
I am currently on Furlough which I have been since the Mid March. I am employed in a purchasing department for an electrical wholesalers and just had a phone call from my boss explaining there will be a lot of redundancies happening in the company and our department will be effected. They are sending letters out in the next few days to everyone and they are looking first for people who would take voluntary redundancy .
Starting to panic as I have a mortgage but I have been employed by the company since 2001 so hopefully that maybe a deciding factor when making redundancies well I hope anyway!
In the mean time I would imagine they will keep people on for another month when they have to start contributing to the furlough scheme.
So from now on my discipline in trading has got to be paramount. Hopefully I can build a bank up trading and if I do get made redundant trading full time could be a possibility. I am going to be trading 3% of my bank on trades ( currently have £158.00) in the account. And i know if i have bank management and discipline i can make this work.
When i feel the need to trade unnecessary or want to chase loses the laptop will have to be switched off , discipline is key wish me luck. -

Well good news , I had the call today from work regarding the redundancies in my department and I have succeeded in staying on, just the 1 redundancy in our dept at the moment. Lost my o over time pay and company car and purchase manager title but i have a job which is the main thing. Not needed back to work though yet so time for me now that I can relax to start making some money on the exchange. My mind has been all over the place the last 3 weeks and that has not helped with my trading but I think It will change now. Thanks all for the support
fantastic news! a win for the community

@james-everard I've been made redundant twice mate and then after that I was let go in what we dressed up as a mutual. Worst comes to the worst you'll get enough money to tide you over and you'll bounce back.
I've had a mortgage for years myself. I know the stress involved
What is 19 years of service? It can't be a small amount surely?

@james-everard Hey bud!
If you need anything give me a shout, us guys are all here for you
-
@james-everard just don't let this pressure you into forcing any trades, keep up the good work you have done so far
-
Sorry to hear this.
The current situation looks like it is teaching us all discipline as traders as we got to start thinking about protecting the bank even more.
I am sure you will bounce back, good luck -
Thanks all for the messages of support I would imagine a lot of the country will be in the same position though. They have sent a letter asking for voluntary redundancies today or to take a pay cut . I have offered to hand back the company car and await their response.
One good thing to come of the news ,is this has helped big time with my mentality and bank management I am sticking to the rules and when I do lose a trade( like I did earlier in the South Korean match just accept the loss and not to chase losses) think I can make this in the end. -
sorry to hear this @james-everard, wishing you the best even if the worst does happen I am sure you can bounce back!
-
I hope your job is safe. I imagine quite a few people will be in the same position in the weeks that lie ahead.
Remember, sometimes rock bottom is a great solid foundation to build upon.
