    Hi everyone!

    Who you are?
    Radek Greczka

    Where you are from?
    Poznan / Poland

What stage are you at in your trading journey?
I understand the basics of trade. I want to increase my knowledge and skills.

    What's your background?
I am currently a sales director at an insurance company.

    Why did you join BTC?
I was looking for a group of people who would understand me and I understand them 🙂 I was looking for a place that would offer tools, knowledge and a willingness to share experiences.

What do you hope to get from the community?
Support, help, your experience. I want to stop blindfolding.

@keith-anderson Ah yes, its nice at Ribby Hall. Its kind of in between the two places. To be fair its quite nice north of Preston if you steer away from Blackpool, quite picturesque, its just Preston city itself leaves a lot to be desired!

I was staying at the 'White House' in Ribby Hall - which I thought was Blackpool, but the address said Preston!

@steve6 Welcome to the group! Im not too far from you, just between Southport and Preston.

Regarding your point of confusion about watching games, i think this depends on your style of trading and match-reading ability. Sure, some traders can watch any game and trade it based solely on what they see and feel with no prior analysis but equally some will use pre-match analysis only without checking in-play stats and some (probably most) will use pre-match analysis backed up with checking in-play stats. Theres no black and white answer, as with anything its a case of 'what works for you'

    Who you are?
Steve, 64, been retired for a couple of years.

    Where you are from?
From Manchester, worked down South, now back up North (Fleetwood)

What stage are you at in your trading journey?
Early days. Have read loads and watched loads of football trading stuff but not really got into it seriously. There seems to be so many strategies I don’t really know which one(s) to start with.

I also find it confusing that some pro traders say you can’t trade well if you’re not watching and ‘reading’ the match and others say you just need to follow in play stats.
I would hope it’s the latter.

I did try matched betting/ low risk casino for a year or so and made £5k but the gubbings are depressing and I felt it took over my life to the exclusion of everything else. Nowadays, having taken the low hanging fruit of MB, I can’t be bothered with it much anymore. It’s a great way to build a bank though.

I’m hoping that trading will be more adaptable to a ‘work’/life balance.

    What's your background?
    IT. Old school programmer.

    Why did you join BTC?
To be honest, I just wanted to compare it to another rival trading site that I’m also trialling.
It’s only been a week but BTC is definitely winning me over. The stats software is very impressive with so many selection parameters available.
I also like the friendly community feel of BTC.

What do you hope to get from the community?
Training, ideas for filters, questions to be answered.

What are some of your trading goals?
I am under no illusions that trading is easy, so I just want to build up experience and see if I can initially break even or better . I’m going to start with a bank of £500 and only risk £10 per trade.

If my bank doubles, I’ll double my stakes. I’m not expecting that to happen anytime soon though!

    Who you are?

    Steve
    Where you are from?
    Australia (Central Coast of NSW)
What stage are you at in your trading journey
    Just starting
    What's your background?
That's a wide question. What I bring to the party is that I am, by profession, a data analyst (hmm, amongst others), and I'm pretty good at sticking to processes without bailing at the first sign of trouble - two qualities that seem to help with this trading. On the downside, I am very inexperienced but I'm trying to learn.
    Why did you join BTC?
I watched some videos and listened to some blogs and thought I'd see if I could get some help starting out. I'll see how this develops.
What do you hope to get from the community?
Starting advice, at first. I'd also like to talk to people about how they go about data analysis because I think that's where my strengths lay.
What are some of your trading goals?
At first, not lose my small bank. Then slowly build a bank over time. Eventually, I would like to supplement my retirement in a few years.

@justin-sidaway one of the best football strategies for beginners is the lay the draw strategy, there are a few versions of it but basically you try to pick teams who score lots of goals and therefore don't have many bore draws. not much football on today but there will be over the weekend. Check out Keith's filter on the stats software as well, I know a lot of people follow that and do well. The key is to check the games yourself once you have a filtered list to make sure they are good picks, it is also wise to check the inplay stats at HT if going for a half-time LTD, it is also good to check stats later on in the match if you are thinking about taking a loss to see if it does look like a dead game. Just give it a go very small stakes and see how you go.

@justin-sidaway Hi Justin! Welcome to the club. I definitely prefer trading to gambling for the reason that sporting events often have many ups and downs. Picking which way the coin will ultimately fall is difficult but riding the swings means whoever you pick you can often make money in the markets. Perfect example of this is the Ashes match last week, I layed England at 5.0 and traded out at 12.0, I thought we could not chase 300. I was wrong and we won but because of the beauty of trading I still made money as Aus were in such a good position to win.

Another newbie... I signed up last night.

I'm Justin 47yo and from Stourbridge West Midlands.

Unfortunately I've always had the gambling bug, started on the fruit machines and have dabbled In almost everything (3 card brag, poker, football betting and horses) Out of everything only poker I considered myself to be profitable.

I have 80 pounds to gamble with each month and are sick of being skint by the end of week 2 (sometimes week 1). So have decided I need to try and take this seriously.

I've been dabbling in trading on/off for the last4 months and enjoy this, thinking there is more of a skill to this than just betting.

At the moment I have 100 in my bankroll, I don't have a system. Also I have a young family so can't put loads of time into this at the moment.

I know more about football so would like to start here,...

Anyone say I should quit (I've heard this a 1000 times off the wife 🙂 )

    Thanks
    Jusin
