trading life- building up my balance
-
Hi everyone I am going to use this as a bit of a journal and write my thoughts about what I do each day I trade and how I got on. I am hoping to use a range of strategies and trades and I will record how I do them. My aim is to build up a decent size balance from a relative small balance whilst learning how to trade. Obviously if I can do it from a small balance I am going to be able to do it from a bigger balance following the same systems and bank roll management that I have learnt from this group.
My selections will be a mixture from my filters, research, inplay trading whilst watching a match and some tips from the boys in the group. Over the last few weeks I have learnt a lot from watching the mentality videos and talking to members online. I have also watched a good few ytube videos which have also helped. My aim is to become familiar with a few strategies to use on inplay football matches what I can use whilst watching a game. I prefer to trade in and out of markets not just place a trade and hope.
I will keep this thread updated everyday I trade. Maybe this could be useful for new traders to see how I got on and learn what I did well and what I didn't do well.

@Gary-Brown I've just found this thread when reading though and I think it is excellent!
The part you wrote about aiming for 3% daily which would be around 20-25% weekly really brings all this into perspective! The increase in bank roll would be huge at 3% even with a few losing days.
Thanks and keep up the good work!
-
@gary-brown I wish my blips were like that! You seem to be doing just fine and rebuilding steadily!
-
@martin-futter Thanks Martin just going through a blip at the moment. So I keep thinking about adapting what I do and trying to figure out what is working best for me.

Well it was m first day of loses yesterday. Silly mistake to be honest not following the rules of an exit point after a goal had been scored by the fav in the Koln game yesterday. Dave even posted to do it. YIKES sorry Dave.
Looking on the bright side I know where I went wrong and its a mistake usually make but I made it yesterday and paid the price.
So overall
Week 2 Day 7 Saturday
Starting Bank = £723.76 End Bank = £713.76
lOSS = £10Going to stick to scalping the goal markets and follow some of the GTLTD strategies which are members are testing as well as watching games and looking for some opportunities.

@gary-brown Thank you matey!! We are glad to have you here!

@ryan-carruthers Thank you Ryan your kind words mean a lot. I wouldn't be able to do what I am doing so far without BTC.

@gary-brown I like it, I always say trading can be as simple or as complicated as you make it, you've found the niche and running with it - well played and its working. Great to see buddy!

Hi Nathan I tend to look at different things to be honest.
- I look at the advice and selections our members post in the trading football discussion room and try a few of these but always watch the matches to get a feel of what is happening. If I agree with the selction I sometimes do the trade.
2, I would say watching the matches on bet365 or on betfair really does help.
- I find most success scalping the goal markets going in for under goals and trading out after a few minutes building up regular small profits which add up. The shorter the time I have a a trade inplay the better. An example is I placed a u2.5 goal on the man utd game tonight and traded out after 11minutes. I watched the game and if the action increased I would of traded out. It only took around 1 minute on this game for me to be in the green (small profit) due to how many people are betting on this game.
A good starting to point is to look at the strategies highlighted on this website and look at the strategy videos on ytube to get a feeling how the markets move during the games. the goal market strategies are good. I have made notes on these videos in a trading notebook and I keep re reading and familiarizing myself with the methods and the entry and exit points they suggest. I have got around 7-8 strategies I tend to look at during a game and may use one of them depending how I feel the game is going.
I watched the mentality videos on here which has helped me a lot. I think a big key to this is to manage your bank amd stay disciplined to your strategy and system and never ever chase loses or over stake. around 3% of my bank I tend to risk at anyone time.
My aim is to build up the bank slowly each day. Around 3% is my daily target or around 20=25% over the course of a week.
I think research different strategies, make notes how they work and paper trade them so you get a good feeling how it all works. Lots of people are very experienced here and have given me some great advice. Research is a good starting point but you wont be able to be in profit just using this. Watching the games I feel is more important as the unexpected happens more often than the expected in football games.
Really appreciate the advice Gary, Cheers!

@Gary-Brown Hi Gary I'm fairly new to trading myself and was curious as to how you come up with the selections to trade in play, is it solely filtered results, watching and getting a feel for a game/keeping an eye on in play stats or a mixture of both?
-
I think I am done for today just going to chill and relax now. May do something on the Spurs game in the 2nd half
eek 2 Day 3 Tuesday
Starting Bank = £537.23 End Bank = £571.93
Profit = £34.70 increase = 6.46%
An excellent day of inplay trades on the goal markets again. I think its called scalping what I have been trying out.
Not all days will be like this so I need to take it a bit slower and not let todays success lead to mistakes. This is where I sometimes have fallen down before. -
@ryan-carruthers
Thanks Ryan I hope it helps some members and gives them some ideas of kind of things to do. Its more to do with looking for opportunities during a game rather than selecting pre match systems. So its hard to suggest to people what to do before the game. I do use some of the systems our members post or some from my filters.
