Football - Outright Markets Trading Thread
-
Hi folks,
Hope I'm okay to start a new thread as I had a quick scan through the topics and didn't see anything similar.
This is a thread about trading the outright markets e.g. league winners, top goalscorer, relegated teams etc.
It's a topic I've got a lot of interest in but found there aren't too many resources.
Any tips/tricks/resources for the outright markets, please post them in here and hopefully we'll make some good money together! -

Hi Guys, any thoughts on laying man city treble?
why not just lay them in their individual competitions where there will be good liquidity? I think they will win the league and FA Cup so wouldn't be one for me personally
-
Yep, thought so, hardly anything matched on it, tempting to lay man city for the quadruple, but i guess its best to wait once the market is fullt formed
-
@rupen-shah There's not much money in this market matey, you wouldn't be able to get that much on this one, a s a result you can see the back and lay is all over the place due to low money in the markets, its not really formed.

@james-h City will win, I can see it.
I would actually prefer it if Liverpool weren't leading, Id rather them be chasing City, think they'd be better.
I agree with Carra Man Utd do have the 2nd best squad in the league
-
@ryan-carruthers agreed, I think City will take the initiative and win at Everton on Wednesday and think their price will come in then.

Hi Martin/Ryan
Taken your advice and layed Salah at 1.94. So not a massive win as I only used small stakes. But a green of £10.27 salah, £10.04 kane and £7.61 on the rest.

@james-everard remove liability at least if he gets a season ending injury this weekend you will be sick
-
@james-everard I am not sure on Salah, for me as a fan he hasn't been that lethal like he was last season, people say his stats say otherwise but he has scored a fair few goals in games this season where last season it seemed to be 1 or 2 every game. I don't get that feeling from him this season to be honest, that's just me as a fan of Liverpool though buddy!

I traded by laying Kane as top goal scorer straight away as he walked off injured at 4.6, odds the following day drifted right out to 16 to back after the news broke that he would be out until March. I hear rumours he maybe back sooner than anticipated and the odds are now 14, and Salah is still only two goals ahead. I have now backed Kane at 13.5 yesterday. I also backed Salah at 2.5 a couple of weeks back thinking of laying as now 1.96 any thoughts please?
-
@martin-futter hmm tough one to call, they have Leicester and Fulham away in their next two games, not sure I trust them to win both of those so not sure how the price would be affected.
-
Looking at that Newcastle v Man City game from the other side, Newcastle are currently @ 5.2 to be relegated. I'd expect odds to shorten if they lose heavily tonight.
-
English Premier League outright market has Liverpool @ 1.83 and Manchester City @ 2.28.
Liverpool supposedly have the tougher game this week - they're 1.27 to win, whilst City are 1.2. City also play tonight whilst Liverpool don't until tomorrow, so the gap at the top could be closed to just a point.
If you fancy City to win tonight, I'd recommend backing them with a fairly large stake in the outright market, and then cashing out following tonight's game.
