I think removing betfair prices from tp sites is starting to look a little deliberate.
-
@Alex-Rendell No, I'm just using the basic. It's not ideal as only gives last traded price I think rather than specific back/lay prices. Just come across one game where it's given me a price of 2.62 on Sturm the other day when bookies had priced it up as over 3 on average so I'm not sure when it took that price from. On the whole though it's good enough for me.
-
@Richard-Latimer Oh wow, that could be a game-changer?! Are you paying for the data or using the free downloadable stuff? Might be an avenue I want to investigate if it's possible to pull the data at a set time each morning?
Still no fix on the site that I use yet!
-
@Alex-Rendell I've managed to get ai to write me a script for python. Took me days fiddlng but it's going to save me so much time. Populates a spreadsheet with all the prices I need. Just have to download from betfair every day then extract files to a specific folder.
Have the betfair prices come back for you yet?
-
@Alex-Rendell yeah that's what I've got and I'm really struggling with the betfair historical data downloads. Doing my nut to be fair!
-
@Richard-Latimer perhaps? Nope still not up and running again yet, hasn't been able to pull any price data since late on the 21st/early 22nd
-
I'm now waiting 5 days for the historical data but it's so annoying and makes it feel like I'm constantly behind.
-
@Alex-Rendell or have betfair just suddenly stopped sharing their data with these outside companies. Is it back on that site you use yet?
-
@james-everard It's a good point but I do try to assess whether there is anything worth playing for when I choose my trades. I think it is probably just (bad) luck of the draw, so to speak.
-
@Alastair-Todd I have been paper trading but noticed a slump in certain strategies this month , probably the end of season , are matches losing where a team or both teams have nothing to play for?
-
@Richard-Latimer it might be a problem with the people who provide the API then, as I'm not sure they get their data direct from Betfair?!
-
@Alex-Rendell their api site says everything is operational though?
-
@Richard-Latimer yep almost definitely - it's affected other sites too apparently so must be pretty major!
-
@Alex-Rendell I wonder if that's why oddsportal don't have it then. It's been since Monday.
-
@Richard-Latimer The Betfair API has been down for the last couple of days so it hasn't pulled in any price info unfortunately but it shows the average bookmaker pre-KO odds as 7.52 if that's of any use! It covers Mexico too but again won't have any price info from the last two days, sorry.
-
@Alex-Rendell do you know what the back price was for under 1.5 on
Barcelona v Celta last night?I don't expect the under 1.5 data extends to South Korea and Mexico does it?
-
@Richard-Latimer I can get you last traded (pre-KO) back prices for a lot of markets going back years if you want; it doesn't cover all leagues withing BTC but definitely the major ones with meaningful liquidity and volume on Betfair.
EDIT: In fact, I'd just sign up to Football Bet Data if I were you and you can access everything you want from there.
-
Does anybody track historical betfair prices and other than waiting 5 days for the official downloadable files on betfairs site does anyone know where I can find these? Oddsportal have removed betfair prices this week and it's making collecting data tricky.
I tried using AI but the nonsense it's coming back with is impossible.
-
This trading is absolutely doing my head in. Something has obviously gone wrong with my filter. I have very selectively put 4 trades on over the last week from all the filtered results - two of which were also mentioned in the daily email. i.e. "100% of their games had over 1.5 goals".
All 4 trades lost.
The even more annoying thing is that many of the ones that didn't look entirely right for a trade all would have won! Someone's having a laugh.
Just getting it off my chest, sorry.
