@Martin I'm trying to make sense of this rule and hope somebody can help.

When I include it in some of my strategies, the results are amazing, but during actual testing the results are terrible.

Can I ask, does this rule rank the horse on the total traded volume from market opening to race finishing, (which is what I am suspecting), which would explain the great results in the software and terrible when testing. Or, does it take the total traded volume from market opening to the time you select when placing the bets (Normally pre-race). The latter would definitely be of more use.

@Lee-Greener No worries, we'll disable the non-scope version of that strategy rule in a future update (like we do with "horse position") as it's literally impossible to use to backtest an upcoming race!

@Adam Thank you very much for explaining this, makes so much more sense now. Really appreciate the explanation in lamence terms, I wasn't sure if the word 'final' meant, up to the point where I place my bets or final as in the end of the race. Thanks again.

@Lee-Greener It's the final traded rank, so is useful if you activate the scope setting to look back over previous runs but should not be used for the upcoming race or you end up with a look-ahead bias, as you've identified.

If you click the icon next to each rule, there's a description of what the rule does:

In this case it says "The horse's final rank in terms of amount traded on the Betfair market. The horse with the most money traded will be rank 1".
