The Winning Edge Challenge – 3 Simple Steps
-
@Shannon-Townsend That is something to keep an eye on as that might actually be the better way of trading it, like I mentioned in the video.
I would also look at tracking this angle. instead of 2 stakes it might make sense to try 3 or 4 splits.
One at the start
One at 15
One at 30
One at 50Wonder what that would do to the strategy?
-
@Gary-Calvert Amazing stuff, which team are you on?
-
@Nikki-HALSALL This is really interesting, thank you for sharing.
I think 500 is enough to look through 100%, I am sure Martin and I would be happy to help on the private coaching in the forum too.
A lot of people are scared of sharing their picks, that challenge Martin is running is great for that.

@Ryan yes I am
I am testing 6 strategies at the moment, I am collecting data and at some point will start to have a look at the stats more deeply - I might need help at that point. The Football Challenge and the Winning edge are both brilliant. The football Challenge is great for daily interaction and discipline, also got me over the nerves of sharing my picks!!
I have placed 347 quid trades over these strategies (I don't trade them all) and am running at -13.91 - last week I was briefly in profit which made me very happy for a few days. 3 of them are in profit and 1 of those is my own
As each strategy gets to about 500 matches is that a good time to have a look?
I do and will have a lot of questions but will ask them elsewhere.
Thanks for the support so far, and to those sharing on the forum, its great to read and learn, but most of all we know we are not alone

@Aaron-Franco Interesting so this felt like you were actually getting somewhere?
Like testing with a purpose?
-
@Ryan For me personally its felt like I have been stuck in the ''Testing Phase'' for what feels like forever. But this felt like it wasn't testing phase though it is, does that make sesne? It gave me a focus on In-Play rather than just set & forgets. Because I was noticing the early goal coming it made me think I can apply any trading strategy to the selection.
I have a data base of selections with over 3,000 data points, at the same time I was having a conversation with Martin and it got me thinking. I'm going to go back and have another look at the data, which i had looked at a few times already but to no avail. I just kept tracking and tracking thinking when it drops as in the penny lol this data will be useful. But this time it feels different purely because of the data and does not feel like im starting again. Recently the content you have been putting out regarding confidence and ability to trade that really hit home as I related to that because i think that's my problem is i don't have a proven strategy so that kept me in a cycle.
The split stake helped me focus more and create a plan and realise things about myself. Seeing them as a selection rather than a strategy has opened my eyes then i had a flood of ideas which made re-visit my data. Been using grok also to go back 5 years and analyse the leagues. It was interesting as Grok took the covid year into consideration.

@GREGORIOS-KARASHIALIS Top man, this fun for you?
-
@Nikki-HALSALL Still enjoying it?
-
@Shannon-Townsend Lovely, hows this working out for you?
-
@Gary-Calvert Perfect, how are you getting on so far?
-
@Aaron-Franco Why do you think it hit home so much?
I think a lot of people are doing the challenge and trying to stick with the one strategy but it seems to easy or like they aren't working hard enough maybe.
Trying to get to the bottom of it to shift peoples beliefs.
-
@Ryan That sounds like a brilliant idea, pretty cool how you have gamified it :).
This challenge so far as been brilliant it feels like it has unlocked something in my own trading a shift in mentality if you like lol.
So far for the split stake I have 23 selections. I thought it was interesting regarding the E-Mail you received because that is something that I have also noticed. Which coincides with my switch of mentality. Its not about a strategy per se its about a selection. One angle that i thought is a before K/O Over 2.5 traditional trade with a stop loss on the 25th min for example and if a goal comes then all well and good and if not still have the opportunity for the Over 1.5 split stake.

@Ryan I think its a great idea, I am ALL IN
