Something bizarre happened on one of my L2Bs at Cheltenham yesterday....
The Short Go(14:40) hit the odds range, was towards the back of the field for that start and settled at the back as well.
.....and the odds didnt move for 2 full minutes after the off(0 or little money coming in), even though the horse remained at the back. I called time on the trade after 2 min 30 for a 70p profit when it finally did move, well short of the 12 ticks, as I like to be out before the miraculous comebacks but Im at a loss to explain what happened! Usually, even if a horse sits at the back the odds are not dormant like this, they always shorten(infuriating!) or drift, even if its just a few ticks.
Has anyone else had this experience?

@John-Folan L2Bs still my bread and butter. The DOB hobby isnt going bad though, Β£4 off raising my stake to a fiver....although I think your and my DOB selections together tend to cancel each other out somewhat!

How is everyone doing? My dobs have been nice and consistent. Very happy with them since I first posted a few months ago

@John-Folan agree!

@Tony-Hastie yeah interesting pattern that Jan is a bad month!

@John-Folan do you find rain has much impact over winter? just thinking it rains and is damp pretty much all the time anyway so may not be as much of a factor.
I actually think the weather has a big impact. Pretty sure when itβs peeing down it affects the horses and jockeys big time
-
@Martin thanks for this. Im sure youve already noticed but January has been a bit of a bastard laying course distance winners! 2023 was a big loss, 2024 was a big loss, so far in 2025 its running at scratch. Rest of the time its looking pretty good! So might take a look at it in February

@John-Folan interesting that we may be able to pinpoint a moment that it went back to normal, may be some old strategies that need to be dusted off to check!
I agree. I'll try and get into it this week.
My dobs still ticking along nicely as well.

This may interest a few people!
Trading in VR with a Quest 3 and Immersed app.
Up to 5 virtual screens as big as you like and positionable anywhere in the environment.
Passthrough portal so I can still see my keyboard, mouse and other assorted crap on my desk.
Wow!!

@Tony-Hastie does seem to be a trend with bad weather doesn't it?! I think @John-Folan ignores it completely!
Yep!

Interesting that both of those graphs in my previous comment show March 2023 as the turning point, I wonder if that is a potential measure for when the Covid effect started to vanish?
I thought that. Seems a lot started to get back to normal after that. My dobs are the same
