Query on Lay Asian Handicap

Hi All,
Relatively new to all this , been trading mainly goal markets.
Last night I layed Napoli +1 @ 1.01 for 100.
Final score was 2-2 so my thinking was I won as napoli 3-2 didnt happen. "What if" on betfair showed 98 green for draw when I placed the bet.
But my understanding is obviously wrong as I lost.
Be grateful if some could explain why i lost

@John-Patrick-Bourke To my understanding if you had backed Napoli +1 then you would have won as the asian score would have been 3-2 to Napoli. But you placed a lay bet hence you lost
